My husband, one year old daughter, my pregnant belly and I recently moved across the country. In doing so, I left my wonderful (and simple) washing machine behind. Organization is a skill I’ve really had to improve upon since our daughter was born. Babies come with a lot of stuff and if that stuff isn’t in it’s proper place, it can be difficult to give your child what he or she needs. I’ve been using cloth diapers for over a year now and I’ve had my share of leaks. At first, when a diaper leaks, I want to blame the diaper, but I’ve discovered that the diaper is not always to blame. Friday went much better than Thursday. It was calm, and there was no drama. Even though I have enough diapers that it wasn’t necessary, I washed the diapers quickly while Bunny napped and then line dried them under the sun where they dried much more quickly than they would have inside. Flats & Handwashing Challenge Day 2! Today was much better than my first day with the Flats Challenge because I’m getting used to having tons of family over for the week and I feel I’m getting into the swing of things. Not only that, but my clothes hamper is seeing the light of day and my kitchen is clean (including the sink!) I’m a happy girl! Bunny woke up with no leaks, which is normal for her. So, May 23 is fast approaching and I feel that I’m fully prepared mentally with all the practice I’ve had folding, using, and washing my flats, but now I need to be prepared physically as well—and not just for myself but for my caretakers. So how have I prepared? Buy the flats I already have enough flats to use them exclusively during flats and hand washing week.
