A Natural Diaper Rash Solution Found in the Least Expected Place

A couple weeks ago, my sweet two week old (at the time) son broke out in a nasty diaper rash on his tummy, which quickly spread to his inner and outer thighs, and his right butt cheek.  My first thought was, “But I’m using CLOTH DIAPERS!!“  And we had been since day one.  You see, at birth, the hospital staff slapped a disposable on his brand new bottom and minutes later, to their dismay, he was changed to his Rumparooz Lil Joey’s.  And that was the last he would see of a … [Read more...]

What’s in your Sitter Stash?

Most grandparents, even if they used cloth diapers on their children, wont be interested in flats, prefolds, pins, snappis, or covers. This decision seemed easy, but had I ever looked at my own sanitary needs in the same way? The answer, is no, I had never … [Read more...]

CDB Washing Machine 4

An expert's advice on washing machines. Our clothes were starting to get this funky smell—our clean clothes, that is. A weird smell that only surfaced when we started to sweat or got caught in the rain.  It was awful and I wasn’t sure what to do about it since they were already clean.   I started adding water to my regular laundry the way I do to my cloth diaper loads, but that didn’t seem to help, and it was an AWFUL lot of extra work that I didn’t need in my full schedule. So, … [Read more...]
