It seems there are a number of you interested in trying out or growing your stash of FuzziBunz One Size Diapers!
WHAT A GREAT RESPONSE TO LAST WEEK’S GIVEAWAY!
It’s no wonder really since these one size diapers fit babies from infancy to toddlerhood. It seems that every time we turn around someone else is putting out a new one-size diaper, but truly…one size POCKET diapers are our favorite for their absolute adjustable absorbency!
Just so you know these FuzziBunz One Size Diapers are meant to fit babies from birth to potty training (typically 7-35 lbs), which is quite a challenge for any cloth diaper.
Not afraid of a challenge, FuzziBunz One Size Diapers took a tip from the children’s clothing industry and built-in special button-adjusted waist and leg casings to meet that objective even better than solely using snap-setting adjustments.
The two (2) winners of the two (2) Fuzzi Bunz One Size Diapers will get to choose their size and color!
The winners of last week’s “FEED YOUR STASH” Friday Fuzzi Bunz One Size Diapers Giveaway are …
COMMENT #13 - JENNY
In response to the question, “How many styles of cloth diapers do you have in your stash? Are you a “one style” of cloth diaper kind of family or do you prefer variety?” Jenny was short and sweet when she wrote:
“just one style. too keep it simple.”

COMMENTS ARE CLOSED - Winners to be announced shortly!
I am new to the cloth diapering world, so i relied recommendations/earth friendliness at first. but then i did a lot of research and realized that all of the cloth diapers were earth friendly, and it depends on style and ease of use for me. but i love my AIO’s:)
Definitely earth friendliness!
I try to choose only organic cotton, hemp, bamboo or wool.
I try not to choose fleece, micro-fleece, PUL, or polyester.
I’m new to cloth diapering too - so far I am starting with recommendations from friends and reading reviews online. I look for trim, affordable diapers that are easy to use.
I choose the products by type of material and recommendations.
I usually try to find the best combination of economy and performance and prefer products that are unbleached both for the earth and for baby’s skin. I check lots of websites for the best prices and read lots of reviews.
And I posted a link to this giveaway on this blog.
Hmmm… I think I select from all of the above! I originally decided to use cloth due to saving money, health consciousness, and environmental issues. But all of the other pros of cloth have won me over too, plus some. :)
We first chose what we could afford, and slowly added different types to find what we liked and didn’t like. We still keep a variety of different types.( my husband has his preferences and I have mine)
I like ease of use. I tried most all of the best selling brands out there and found I liked GroBaby the best. I Loved Thirsties and Drybees too but grobaby fit best on my girl.
New to CD so I started by friend recomendations and what seemed most user friendly.
I love natural fibers, especially soft cotton because it washes so easily, can’t get wrecked by washing with the “wrong” kind of diapers like fleece does, and doesn’t hold on to smells. For night-time layers of cotton with a wool soaker works great, it’s leak free and breathable! During the day at home, we usually go cover-free, but Thirsties PUL covers are great for going out in. They have the best leg gussets. I also like diapers with separate or snap in doublers because two or more pieces line dry faster than one thick one.
It’s been trial and error to figure out what we like best, but it’s great now that we have what we like and is easiest for us.
I usually try to buy according to fit, ease of use, reliability, and cost.
I choose mainly from recommendations; otherwise, I feel like I’m just blindly choosing a product. I definitely see it as an investment, so I want to do my research.
The environmental issues are what lead me to cloth not actually the savings. In the beginning I was paying more for a cloth hybrid system. Boy am I over that! Now I look for function. It has been REALLY HARD to find a diaper that my son can’t leak through! We do have some Thirsties covers and they are great! I LOVE the gussets! Recently I’ve had to add their cotton doublers to my prefolds as pocket inserts. Thirsties products are great!
As far as cloth diapering goes, I’m going to have to go with recommendations. We haven’t used them with our 1st two and are expecting our 3rd in September. I plan to try them with her.
I spent days reading some of the CD forums and getting opinions on the favorite brands, and then I just ordered one or two of a few different styles/brands. I kept what worked, sold what didn’t, and expanded our stash from there!
I chose the brands I use now based on customer reviews and lots and lots of reading. I factor in convenience for my family versus cost effectivieness. So far, so good for my 6 month old twins! I’m hooked! Now I’m feeling confident and ready to try more brands, as I currently only have 2 different brands of the same kind of pocket diaper.
I spent a lot of time researching and reading reviews and also had a friend recommend a few of her favorites. I tried out a few of the top rated ones and went with the ones that worked the best for us.
We chose cloth to help lessen our environmental impact. We relied on reviews (although they are varied and sometimes overwhelming!) and the experience of friends to chose what we’d use. I was skeptical, but we’re so pleased!
How do you select what cloth diaper brands you prefer?
Earth friendliness: This is a very big deal for me. I am a new grandmother and watch my grandson every day while his parents work. Finding the newest products has been fun for me to research. I’m an old school cloth diaper, so the newer styles have been fun for me to try out.
Color and Style availability? This does make it easier to shop for them.
Recommendations? I do read the customers replies to find out what works best for them.
Right now I have a couple different brand that I just got to try out.
I select based on price and colors/ patterns.
I used recommendations from friends and family along with what seemed to be most convenient. Fun colors and patterns helped too! :)
With our first child we knew we wanted to use cloth, but didn’t know anything about it at all. We used whatever we could find locally, mostly gerber prefolds and covers. Now we are planing another child and I am planing to have more variety so I will be trying many. I am really interested in aio’s which is a wholly new concept for me.
I am trying to decide based on affordability, simplicity, and if it works well with people who are new to cloth diapering. I also look at reviews to decide!
Unfortunately, I don’t have any friends that cloth diaper, so I rely on blogs like this to get recommendations! I’m not concerned about colors and styles because ANY cloth diaper is way cuter than a disposable! I started CDind to be earth friendly, so it’s definitely a factor, too…..
I just tried a few different styles and found that the Thirsties fit my little one the best! Oh, I’d LOVE to with today’s giveaway!!
Usually off of Reccomendations. But Sometimes off price. If something’s price is right it’s worth trying! I just bought my first HP for $9.99 the other day!! Worth it to me even though I heard Mixed Reviews! THANKS
Recommendations!!! Then price:)
Cute diapers that come highly recommended are always a plus!!
I rely on several different blogs to get ideas about which new diapers to try, but the final decision comes down to price. I already have a large stash for my 16-month-old, so I can’t justify spending lots of money on a new diaper. But I’m also working on opening a bricks-and-mortar cloth diaper store in my town, so I want to try everything I can. I have a single Thirsties Fab Fitted that’s almost to small and I LOVE how trim they fit. I’d really like to try their covers and AIOs.
I count on recommendations for what brands and kinds of diapers to try.
Fit is a definite priority, coupled with eco-concious materials. I love the bamboo and organic cotton fabrics, but since I can sew, often I will copy a fit I like and re-use old terry cloth and flannel to make my own. With a good cover (and some of them are not), these have also worked well. And while I like some of the commercial brands, I also feel good about buying from WAHMs using good materials and designs. There was a lot of trial and error with my first child in CDs but now at least I think I know what features I like.
I decide which brands to buy based on online reviews. What ends up determining my favorites are completely related to fit and blow-out prevention!
For my family it was all about what was most economical at first now two children later and us being in a better spot we have branched out to what is more earth friendly. I wish I could say that I went of recommendations but most of my friends look at me like I am crazy when I tell them that I CD my children.
I choose cloth diapers based on color and style as well as recommendations. Now that I have been using them, I have found personal experience to be the best! Every baby is different, and what might fit one baby really good might not be the best diaper for another baby. I started with a variety of styles and fits and have slowly been figuring out what works the best for us. I love Thirsties covers when I use my prefolds!
Definitely recommendations at first, but now I have the “how cute are they” bug. I figure they are all such a huge leap environmentally over disposables, that I don’t worry too much about that, but I do love to see organic cotton and bamboo choices.
I have gone for convenience-I started with prefolds, and only Gerber vinyl pants were available where I lived, so I tried those. They worked fine and were cheap, so I stuck with them. I’m open to trying other things, but I have to admit-we’re awfully frugal and I’m not going to spend a lot since what I’m doing now is working. :)
It has to be something that my husband is willing to use which means we use AIOs almost exclusively and it has to fit our baby well. I have tried some based on reviews and word of mouth and loved everything about them but they just didn’t fit our little girl very well. A great diaper isn’t great for us when it leaks because of a poor fit.
Here’s my post: http://scrapbookofsorts.blogspot.com/2009/06/feed-your-stash-friday_19.html
I think you really have try them out. Recommendations are really helpful and cost is important, because we probably wouldn’t do it if it meant going broke. But I think the main factors for us is fit and absorbency. Because if they don’t fit well, they don’t do the job and if they don’t do the job then what’s the point? The cute factor is an added bonus!
Personal recommendations and what I can find for the best deal!
I like nice looking diapers, I don’t want to look like a resale shop. I also look for ease, especially if others are looking after my child.
I’m new to the cloth diaper game, so I’m reading as much as I possibly can and checking with the one (ONE!) person in my area I know who CDs. I also plan to try two different starter packs to get a variety of diapers and see which ones will fit my little man the best.
I do the pre-folds, but would love to try something new!
I been cloth diapering for only a few moths and I have a bit of a stash by now but I love my coolababy diaper the most. I started with what I could afford first and what was best for my life style (I have two in diapers. Then building up for there
My first introduction was the economical value cloth diapers have over disposable. After I realized the many benefits besides that, I started searching for absorbant, comfortable diapers for my little girl. I find the fuzzi bunz pocket diapers the most comfortable for her right now, but am open to others too!
I started with reccommendations too. I have been happy with all the ones that I’ve tried!
I started out with what was very popular, but was disappointed and ended up doing a lot of comparing and price shopping–price is a big one. I have ended up with a couple great brands that are one size, with great quality, and price.
Since I am new to CDing I tend to go by recommendations. Although now that I’m a month into it I’ve started venturing out a little on my own. I like to try any and EVERYTHING I can get my hands on. I love trying different brands and different types. I love that all CDs are Earth Friendly (more so than sposies). I just feel so great about CDing, I actually love diaper changes now!! haha
I’ve selected mine based on recommendations from friends who use them. I asked loads of questions to a few friends, and went with what I felt would fit my needs. I was also fortunate to be a diaper tester for a new CD, and I loved them! So I ordered more!
I’m still new at this, so I’m always looking to expand my stash (I have 2 kiddos in cloth diapers, and I’m doing laundry daily!)
I am newly expecting. I guess reviews on fit will be my first priority. Next, color and cuteness. After all, cloth diapering is “green” all on it’s own.
cost effectiveness! i want strength and absorbancy…the most bang for my fuzzy buck!
I choose my diapers through recommendations and cost! Hasn’t failed me yet :)
I read reviews and then try to choose what is both recommended and cost effective. I like bumgenius for outings, but I mainly use old fashioned Indian prefolds with dappi pants covers and a wool cover at night.
I go by recommendations and how easy they’ll be to wash. I have to use a laundromat so I never want anything that I’ll have to spend too much time preparing or stripping. So we’re using mostly prefolds and Thirsties covers with a couple AIOs thrown in for fun.
We just try basically everything we can get our hands on to figure out what’s working best for us!
Mostly recommendations/reviews. And I must say, I LOVE thirsties :-)
Recommendations by real life people (vs the net) where I can touch and feel the dipes and interrogate the users do it for me the best. Although I spend hours on the net poring over different types of dipes to narrow it down1
At first I read a cloth diaper blog and found some recommendations, then I started researching to figure out what I needed and which brand/style would be best. I used different kinds at first, but have found an OS-AIO that I love and am sticking with from now on!
Recommendations by those who are cloth diapering. Willing to pay a little extra for a diaper that works great with a great fit.
blogged: http://daveysdiapers.blogspot.com/2009/06/thirsties-giveaway.html
I select my cloth diapers based on recommendations from others, price, and features (snap vs. aplix, colors, prints, etc). I like to try out different diapers and figure out what works for me and my babe.
I mostly go based on recommendation, but the cuteness factor is pretty significant, too :-)
For us, we select brands based on value for our buck (read: onesize over sized, majority of the time, good resell value, long-lasting, etc., etc.) Then, I look at colours / availability (because it’s difficult to find certain things in Canada, grr!) and of course, people’s (both IRL and online) recommendations factor in, of course, since if someone *loves* it, even if I just “like it”, I probably won’t hate it! =)
Oh, and I blogged!
http://cat-e-uh.livejournal.com/76271.html
We chose ours after a demo from a local retailer. The selection was smaller, but the brands they carried were recommended by friends and we love supporting local businesses!
I don’t have any cloth diapers in my stash yet. I just had my baby. I have researched some about the best cloth diapers so I have an idea what I want to get for her. Cute designs also help, lol.
I select cloth diapers mainly through reviews, talking with friends, and good old trial and error. Mostly, I’ve been quite satisfied with those we’ve tried.
It is usually determined by function - I want easy enough to use and it has to work well once it is on.
I read reviews, plus I like to try new things.
I read reviews and I also look at affordability.
I rely on recommendations from the online cloth diapering community frequent. I don’t mind trying new things and I usually stick to what is easy.
I choose my cloth diapers based on style and affordability. I love the cute colors and designs. I also value the reviews of others in determining if the diapers are worth the purchase
I finally posted it on my blog!
http://mattashleypittman.blogspot.com/2009/06/friday-giveaway_19.html
I’m pretty new at this, so I rely on reviews from websites to help me decide what I’m going to try.
I started out without a clue, just trying different ones. Then I went to color selection, and now that is still a factor, but also the style. I like wraps and pocket diapers because I like using the Bumgenius inserts in all my pocket diapers.
I blog you
I’ll be honest, I choose my diapers based on cost. I know that most cloth diapers are better for the environment than disposables, but there are some I just can’t afford. I am slowly building my stash with great priced auctions I have won on ebay, and I like most of what I have!
I usually select them based on lots of research and recommendations. I totally trust your blog and other cloth diaper mom blogs!
and, speaking of blogs, i blogged about you guys here:
http://monkeys-on-the-bed.blogspot.com/2009/06/super-saturday-savings-june-20.html
I chose my diapers based on price and ease of washing.
PRICE PRICE PRICE!!!! Its got to be affordable!!! I am doing cloth to save money (and the environment!) I can’t justify spending 20-30$ per diaper, while some are cute, I just can’t do it!!!
Definitely by recommendations! I love hearing what’s worked for other people.
I select my cloth diapers on which is the easiest to use and have cute boys colors/styles. Also I look for things that aren’t too expensive.
I select my diapers one by the function like i use bumgenius 3.0 for its one size, but i have fuzzi bunz because i love the colors and patterns. I also like the pocket style so i go with that alot. its a combination so i like to use a variety if i can :)
I blogged about this great giveaway. I would love to try a new diaper like thirsties. The price is amazing so they would be great to add to my collection. http://kara-organicgirl.blogspot.com/2009/06/feed-your-stash-friday-win-thirsties.html
I choose my diapers based on recommendations. This is my first child so I had no previous experience with cloth. I am using prefolds and Bummis covers now and then switching to BumGenius 3.0 when he is a bit chunkier
Price plays a huge part in what I choose. We’re doing cloth to save money. Ease of use is also important as my huband is not willing to do cloth if it means folding and pinning. I also read lots of reviews to see what works for others.
Price is important but recommendations make a big difference, too.
I choose cloth diapers based on recommendations from others and cost!
I chose cloth diapers based on reviews that I find online as well as the enormous amount of information in all of the cloth diapering blogs.
I choose almost entirely on recommendations and what makes the most “sense” to me. I want to go with a brand/style that I can trust and stick with.
I blogged about this giveaway!! http://www.hamfam365.blogspot.com/2009/06/thirstie.html
Thanks!!!
I’ll try anything once, so I usually try something on sale.
I pick my diapers based on price, fabrics, where they are made and quality. I found some dirt cheap diapers on Ebay once that people I know have tried and like but refuse to purchase them because the company will not comment on how they are manufactured. The quality and how they are made (WAHM, manufactured versus possible sweatshop) are just as important as price to me.
I choose based on reviews, price, quality, and ease of use.
I did a little research before chosing one-size since, at the time, I had two in diapers! The diaper pack come w/ a sprayer & wipes.
blog entry,
http://momof3dolls.blogspot.com/2009/06/cloth-diaper-blog_20.html
I am new to CDing, so I did a lot of research on the internet. I also selected it based on our budget, and the easiest to use. And, of course, how cute they are:)
I chose our diapers and diaper covers based on recommendations from friends who cloth diaper as well as price, availability for ordering online and/or registering, and colors. I purchased half white covers, half patterns, and cute patterns are important too!
http://ellenzschunke.blogspot.com/2009/06/clothdiaperblogcom.html
I’m pregnant with #2 and building my stash. I used sposies with #1. I’m going solely off recommendations right now. I like some of the adorable diaper covers, but they seem more expensive.
Price is definitely my biggest concern. I also want ones that I can get the most out of.
Price and sizing. I have a long skinny girl, and certain brands I thought I would LOVE didn’t fit very long. Brands that have a “medium-long” are immediately up a notch in my book.
I’ve mostly bought used, so availability and price go hand in hand.
My new little one was just born and I realzie already that we need more diapers! And Daddy friendly at that! This would be a great ‘gift’ for great Daddy. We are fairly new to cloth diapering and LOVE the 2 thirsties I have. Thanks!
I fell in love with Gdiapers, because it was a cross of cloth and disposables. Since using them we have moved to use mostly cloth in the gdaipers and cloth at night. I love that there are some many different colors to chose from.
I consider price and quality. I value the opinoons of others and have purchased diapers basd on recommendations.
Blogged about Contest!
http://newmommyrant.blogspot.com/2009/06/cloth-diaper-blog-thirsties-giveaway.html
Research and Reviews- Also, I have many friends who CD and I love to hear recommendations. Most important to me is fit… and length of use and of course price!
blogged here :
http://thelazyperfectionist.com/blog/
I’m new to cloth diapering, so I chose my brand (Gro Baby) based on what seemed easiest/least intimidating! My initial reason for CDing though, was for my daughter’s comfort and health, so the fact that Gro Baby has organic diapers was a major selling point. The all natural fibers are so soft, so I know she’s comfy. I am interested in trying a pocket diaper though, since one of my friends uses those and they seem to work really well.
I select based on the material, it should be breathable and hypoallergenic…
I select my diapers carefully… well I try very hard to anyway. We have a strict budget (doesn’t everybody these days?!?!?) & I don’t want to spend money on diapers that won’t fit. I start by scanning the DiaperSwappers FSOT (for sale or trade) threads, & then I go to Diaperpin.com to check reviews when I see a listing for a diaper I may want to try (if it is something I have not tried). The reviews there have stopped me from buying many diapers because of the honesty of the mamas who review the diapers. I have HUGE babies (#3 was 10lbs 4oz @ birth & is now approx 22lbs + at 6 mos) so fit is often very difficult… when a mama says a diaper runs small, I know to RUN away from it!! LOL I have one Thirsties AIO (v 1) & a Thirsties Fab Fitted… they are an AWESOME fit for my baby!!! I’d LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win this package as I have been wanting to try a Thirsties cover and would LOVE to add more Thirsties to our stash. DD will not be able to wear her OS diapers for as long as I’d hoped, so we will need some more larges & probably XL’s too… guess they take after DH who is 6′4″!! ;0)
I choose by ratings and also by price. I like to get a good deal! I do sort of wish now that I would have went with earth friendliness from the beginning and chosen bamboo or hemp diapers with wool covers. Those are expensive though, and don’t seem to be as leak proof since I’ve been using them.
I chose our cloth diapers, which we just began using, based on earth friendliness, good stuff for my baby, and recommendations of others.
I am totally new to the cloth diapering world but have decided to give it a try with my 11 month old. Whatever choices I make will be made primarily on what I read and what cloth diapering friends recommend.
I haven’t cloth diapered yet, but I’m going to give it a try when I have my baby. I love the idea of these! I’d love to win!!
Our first little one is due in 10 weeks, so I’m basically going on recommendations from other cloth diapering moms.
p.
I chose our cloth diapers because the wonderful family I nannied for used Bumgenius diapers. I was unsure of cloth at first, but because of them, I am beginning to collect all sorts of different diapers. However, my favorite so far are the Bumgenius ones.
We are a green family and that is why my wife and I chose cloth diapers.
I’ve been building my stash by doing research, and reading reviews. I’m just venturing into AIO’s and so I’m really looking towards that way right now, guess we’ll see though!
Those diapers that come highly recommended by friends are first priority. Ease of use is high on the priority list, as is cost…but style is certainly up there too. I love to see a cute, girly pattern on my daughter’s behind as she crawls around! ;)
I would really love to try them all, but since my budget won’t let me I do a little research on what others have said about the diaper. I try to buy on sale when I can. I also must say I do like certain diapers because of the colors and prints too.
I chose based on reviews and recommendations of friends! I bought a few of each brand I heard good things about and then bought more of the ones I thought worked well for us!
i have just started venturing into cloth diapers for my second baby and so far i love them. I only have a few and im looking to expand into a few different brands and see what works best for us.
I choose on reviews and recommendations. Mostly I look for trim diapers and ease of use. I have a little bit of everything, though.
I choose my CD’s based on friend’s recs
Since I am on mat leave and thus have a limited income my main concern is affordabliity then its a tie between the enviroment and how EASY they are for me to care for.
I chose my stash based on earth friendliness and daddy friendliness.
I have not used cloth diapers at all, but am looking into getting some. My big concerns are how well they will fit, and if they will leak at all. And being organic helps too!!
I choose my stash by Fit. If it’s cute then that’s a plus.
Blogged about it!!
I choose my cloth diapers based on reviews, price, and how long they will fit my child. I would love to do all organic diapers, but those tend to be way out of our budget!
Honestly, my main consideration is my budget. If its cute or pretty, than it’s a plus. But mostly, I want the most bang for my buck. So prefolds with one size covers are the way to go for me.
I choose what cloth diapers I use based on price and effectiveness. We have all prefolds and covers because they are far cheaper than AIOs.
We chose our diapers based on price and recommendations. We tried to make it as cost effective as possible, but didn’t want to just buy the cheapest and the have problems. So we’ve ended up with some higher-end diapers but we know they’ll do the job and last!
I have chosen diapers by reading blog entries and reviews of several different kinds. I also look for cost and practicality of use.
Right now I’m using price and reviews to make my selections.
reviews play a huge role in how i choose and second is price. im always searching for a sale or something that gets rave reviews. then i see if i need it or just want it.
I chose the brands I use (Bummis covers and prefolds) based on the recommendation of my sister in law and also based on cost effectiveness.
I blogged about the giveaway! The image makes it look so great and stands out from all the other posts!
http://mommyandpedsnurse.blogspot.com/2009/06/feed-your-stash-friday-ends-625.html
I am very new to cloth diapering, so I look for things that other people recommend. I look for things that seem the most earth friendly and the most absorbent.
I looked at reviews online, what looked easy to use, and price. But I love both my fuzzi bunz and my thirsties fitteds!
My daughter in law is very eco conscious and has decided she wants cloth diapers. I used cloth diapers for both of my boys 30 yrs ago and I have been researching AIO diapers to surprise her.
Unfortunately, no one I know uses cloth diapers so I had to just go by trial and error. I figured most, if not all, cloth diapers are earth friendly and I really wasn’t concerned about the color/style. My daughter is 7 months old now and I am at the point where I just want to try several different brands and styles to see which one I like the best. Up until now we have been using pre-folds.
I am reading lots of reviews to see what other moms recommend, and trying to go for the most environmentally friendly. I like bamboo diapers for their softness, anti-microbial properties, and sustainability. I love AIO and pocket diapers for the convenience!
I blogged about this here:
http://emilyisland.blogspot.com/2009/06/not-impressed-with-obsessed.html
I went by recommendations and online reviews. Now I’m going by what fits my baby best. Thanks for the giveaway!
We went with cloth diapers for the affordability and earth friendliness. I started my stash LONG before I even had my daughter. I didn’t know anyone who used cloth diapers, but a friend of mine who was a baby wearer fanatic found a cloth diaper swapping site. I got information there and was able to affordably try multiple different styles of diapers. Even now I’m always looking at different styles because my daughters shape changes and the diapers fit differently on her. Instead of trying to resell the diapers I’ve decided I don’t like I offer them to new mommas that want to use cloth. I’m trying to convert as many new moms as I can!
I choose cloth diapers based on recommendations and reviews. My kids tend to be heavy wetters so I try to find absorbent diapers. I also have purchased some cloth diapers used and had great success with those. I also use G-diapers because they are green and great for being out and about. I even made my own inserts for them.
I have chosen cloth diapers based on price, ease of use and most of all opinions from other mom’s that have more experience than me!
I have chosen cloth diapers on recommendations from friends. I have tried to find the ones that take the least work. I am a fan of Fuzzi bunz. I would like to try the gro diapers.
I am currently trying to decide on what cloth diapers to use for our first baby when he arrives in September. I am leaning towards trying what has been recommended by family and friends.
I only have a few diapers so far but my choosing criteria has been affordability, practicality, and good reviews - in that order.
I choose my diapers based on price and recommendations from friends or other cloth diapering mamas…especially other bloggers that write reviews! I love pretty colors but most of mine aren’t as exciting as I would prefer :-)
When I got pregnant, I already thought about washable diapers because of Earth friendliness, that was obvious to me because I am already wearing washable period pads for myself since my round the world trip and they are so great. So, I started looking at all kinds of reviews and forums to make a decision and all of them seemed great : what to choose ? Recommendations of anyone are hard to follow because I understood that every baby is so unique and also their morphology also changes with time ! Then I gave birth 2 months ago and my husband and I bought a special pack to try directly on her several models of severals brands from around the world based first on their ecological impact vs their ease of use. As a result, the Th***s were the best for her because the size fitted her much better so she could move easier. My daughter is breastfeeded and has really big hips so it always leaks a lot by this way and the back and this brand is great for preventing it with the gussets and the scratches. It is also very easy to clean and dry which is important for not using too much water and time while travelling with it. Colors really don’t matter to me, those diapers are thin enough so I can always have her wearing her cloths on top of them. I am now trying between an AIO and a normal one one size bigger, she has it on, and I am looking forward for the next change (!!!) to know what to order in bigger quantity and in which size. Because of the several sizes possible, I hope it will fit my next babies as well, who should probably arrive before she’s trained, to be really Earth friendly ! Thanks for reading me…
I go by fit and if it has snaps. I will try anything once but buy more if it works well!
I choose my diapers based on reviews (I am new to the cloth diapering world), I want a trim diaper that is also absorbant!
i choose by colors/designs mostly. i have found that just about any diaper fits my girlie just fine so now im always on the lookout for the cutest and brightest colors, adorable prints, stripes and patterns.
Winning diapers to try! In the mean time: Recommendations, reviews and trying them out! I bought one of each brand of cover when I first started. They’re all pretty great so I’ll probably go with the cheapest for my next batch.
I did a lot of research, and read a ton of reviews before buying the first of my stash. So far, I’ve been a bumGenius momma, and now that I’ve discovered my love for cloth diapering I’m looking forward to broadening my stash with other kids!
I am totally new to cloth and have been reading on the Internet like mad. Mostly I am interested in cost effectiveness and availability. We have NO local cloth diaper retailers.
I choose based on price, eco friendliness, quality, good recc’s and I do a lot of research and check out reviews! ;)Thanks.

I rely on the reviews from parents with experience. Colors don’t do much for me. Earth friendliness is high on my list as well as price!

The first cloth diapers I got were the BumGenius 3.0 one size AIOs as a gift - and I was hooked! I bought more of those, but I have also bought prefolds and covers based on reviews that I read at http://www.diaperpin.com.

Cloth diapering makes so much sense economically and enviromentally.
I am completely new to cloth diapering and have been doing tons of research, so I’m mainly going on the recommendations of others. We have 3 small children, so I am looking for a fairly economic & easy to use option.
I choose by function and fit. If they work well and fit well then I buy them. Next comes colors and cuteness! I love thirsties for all of those.
I bought a little of this and little of that to begin with - whatever was on the cheaper side - and then added a few more of what worked well for us.
in the beginning, i purchased based off of reviews on diaper pin and suggestions in a cd’ing forum. now that i am not such a newbie at it, i’m trying new things based off of earth-friendliness or things i know would function best for my son. it’s all about trial and error, learn as you go, and finding what’s best for you!
I am awaiting the arrival of my first child - whom we plan on cloth diapering. So for now, my preferences go almost completely on Recommendations from reviews and blogs. Earth-friendliness would be second if I had any previous experience. Thanks!
Recommendations, both from friends and from diaper pin, blogs etc. I want to be wise with my money, and it is so hard to resist ALL the great diapers, so I do lots of reading before I invest in something new.

Choosing a diaper is a combo of price, recommendations from friends, and trial and error.
I tend to pick my cloth diapers based on color & style availability - I love covers taht have cool colors for my little girls. But before I make a purchase, I also look for lots of reviews online to make sure that I am getting something that others have been happy with.

When choosing my cloth diapers, I mainly go by recommendations and trial and error. I started out with a few Bumgenius simply because I had heard such great things about them. Then, I got the opportunity to buy a few different brands used from another mom. Now, I’m a little more selective about my cloth diapers, but I still go mainly by recommendations :-)

I started based on recommendations from a friend, then did some review-reading online and settled for FuzziBunz because I love the color options. I use Thirsties and Pre-Folds as well.
I chose bum genius because of the OS feature and great reviews on diaper pin. I hadnt been tempted by any other brand until I saw Rumparooz’ double gussets. I know have 3 and made those my nightime dipe:)
I have a 2.5 year old who is day trained and we have been using disposable, and I am due Aug 8th. I would love to try cloth, the up front expense has kept me from trying them.
I first based my decisions about preference on the reccomendations of other mothers on various sites, but now I like to use diapers that fit Snapdragon’s body type. Then my second criteria is that i’d prefer a WAHM made diaper to a mass produced diaper, then US made, then North American, and then I look at cost and environmental friendlihood. But if the fit is wrong, don’t even bother, because it will be leak city all the time!

Ease of use is a priority for me. Most of my diapers have aplix because my husband prefers that to snaps.
So far I picked the brand because of the super cute patterns they had and the price.

My husband just answered, “Whatever is cheapest,” but we do a lot of research on-line, talk to friends and other people who have products they have liked or not liked…and we don’t mind fun colors, either!
So far, I haven’t used cloth diapers! I have NO idea where to start, but I’d say reading reviews and recommendations is the way to go. Hoping to be able to try a few with my almost 2 year old before possibly having another, more sensitive bottom to try them on! =)
We use a lot of factors! We looks at what is locally available or is for sale online, the overall price, what looks comfortable, what is cute, and we weigh recommendations from other people too.
I am a “grandmother to be” and have been researching cloth diapers since I found out my daughter would be using them. Two main considerations are cost and ease of use. I don’t know what we will end up with but other moms’ recommendations are certainly helpful.
I read lots of reviews before I make a purchase. I want a diaper that is easy for myself and other family members to use and one that doesn’t leak! : )
Before deciding to use cloth dipers I read alot on the internt and talked to others that had used them. To pick a brand I read alot and am still reading about diffrent cloth dippers and how to use them. I also talked to others that have and are using them.
Price and ease of use are my 2 biggest factors. We tried Thirsties last year with my son when I first switched to CD-ing and LOVED them - they fit great and were reasonably priced. Now we are expecting Baby #3 in December and I want to start back up again,
I use ones that are the easiest to use and the best value for the money.
my first baby was thin, this one is a cherub :)
so… fit & perceived comfort to the little guy.
organic & wool are my first choices, but we have EC pants from theecstore.com and gdiapers while we’re ec’ing.
I’m fairly new to cloth diapers. At first I did a cloth diaper trial but I liked all of them. So then i became a little obsessed. Price and ease matter a lot.
I’m relatively new to cloth diapering so I find I’m generally choosing diapers based on online reviews and ease of use. I love all the different patterns available, but can give those up in order to have a diaper that works for my babe!

Thanks!
We went to a CD workshop when pregnant with DS1 and learned about/felt all different kinds. We really loved ME OS, and that’s what we’ve always used. We’ve tried a couple of random CDs here and there when friends shared, but we never liked any of them…until we won a GroBaby prize package. We plan to purchase more now that DS2 is here (plus my mom totally loves them, too). DS1 thinks they’re big boy underwear. LOL
