At first pockets were my favorite but stuffing is pretty irritating. It makes laundry a lot slower and no one but me can remember which insert goes with which diaper. Nowadays I prefer AIOs that you can turn inside out.

I like using pockets for overnight but it does get irritating to stuff them sometimes , especially when my insert gets bunched up the wrong way and I have to take it out and do it again.

While the “No-Stuff” design seems like a good idea , I think I would still prefer the soaker to be sewn on like a flap rather than having to stuff the flap into a pocket. Would still like to try it out any way !

My baby is only 2 months old so we haven’t had to resort to much creative stuffing yet, but I don’t mind it at all. With my prefolds I have to fold them, so stuffing doesn’t take much more time!

  62. Jill says:

I do use pockets, and I wasn’t sure if I would like them at first, but after a while, you get used to it. You can either do it as you go, or sit down for 5 minutes and get it over with in front of the tv. No big deal. Although, I must admit, I really REALLY like the idea of the one size AIO, because I LOVED my AIOs for the first few months of diaper changes. They are a great way to ‘break’ into cloth diapers.

  63. Rebecca Orr says:

I don’t necessarily like stuffing, but I like that I can add more when I need to. I would like to try some that don’t require it though. Thanks.

I really don’t like pocket diapers because of the “stuffing.” you still have to wash the whole thing anyway, so I don’t really see the point. AIO and prefold/covers make much more sense to me!

  96. Jessica Hornick says:

I don’t mind stuffing pockets. Its kind of relaxing. My big thing with AIO’s is really, how clean can you get them. Thats one big reason I like prefolds/covers and pockets. I feel like I really know that everything is getting nice and clean. That being said, AIO’s are much faster to put on (including pocket stuffing time) and much easier on a toddler who wants to have diapers put on standing up!!

  97. Jessica Hornick says:

I placed an order 4/2. Order number 25977. Thanks for the BG AIO deal!!!

  98. Jessica Hornick says:

  99. The act of stuffing it of itself is not annoying. What is annoying is never finding the time to stuff and then when I need a diaper I have to stuff it right then. We’re working on making it game to play in the pile of unstuffed diapers while Mama stuffs… but that is a work in progress.

  100. Newsletter subscriber.

  101. Lisa says:

Stuffing diapers is super easy, so it isn’t irritating at all. I don’t think Kissaluvs would convert me w/ their new design, but I’d be willing to try it. I just don’t like microfiber inserts, so I’m not sure I’d like it that much.

  112. Alycia C. says:

I use pocket diapers but hate stuffing so much I typically use them as AI2s and lay the insert on top instead of stuffing it into the pocket. We don’t use much microfiber so I can get away with doing this haha. The no stuff design of the Kissaluv Marvels is very appealing- if I had the choice between the Marvel and an actual pocket, I’d more than likely choose the Marvel. I’d love to give them a try!

  118. christine says:

I am 7 months pregnant and just starting the whole cloth diaper thing. I am into the pocket ones now but have some AIO’s. I think that having to not stuff would be great but I worry about drying time for the bulk. Maybe if they had a flap :)

  119. Cortneigh says:

I don’t mind stuffing – but I’m pretty sure my husband would if he ever had to. I have a few all in ones on hand for his sake and for the grandparents when they’re in town. I have to dry them and then hang dry them so they take longer to dry than my pockets.

  120. Christi W. says:

I currently only have two pocket diapers, 2 AIO, and 24 prefold. I am not crazy about stuffing and hoping the insert stays in place. I like the AIO’s but the longer drying has me hesitant on stocking up on these. That is why I got prefolds, no stuffing in or pulling out soiled inserts and they dry fast. I like the thought of the Kissaluvs but the price has deterred me from buying one to try so far.

  222. Julie Kieras says:

Answer: I was surprised to find that I don’t enjoy stuffing my pocket diapers – I didn’t think it would be a big deal, but it is. You have to wedge your hand and the insert down into the diaper, and then be SURE it’s laying smooth b/c if the insert gets twisted or lumpy, pee can run right off it out the leg openings! It’s so much easier with the Flips I have to just lay the insert down flat and diaper. I don’t have the Kissaluvs, so I’d love to try them if I win! :)

I love the pocket diapers for the absorbency but sometimes stuffing them is a pain. My DD is only 8 weeks and isn’t always willing to nap long enough for me to finish putting them back together! I also have to keep track of different inserts for different diapers. Something I can just throw in th3e washer and it’s pretty much done sounds great. And I am always interested in trying new types of diapers.

I think stuffing diapers is a rather mindless task that’s kind of relaxing. Although, there are some brands that are particularly hard to stuff because the elastic is tight and it’s hard to get your hand in there. We mostly use BG 3.0 and I don’t mind stuffing those.

I am done stuffing pockets! Its just one more thing to do before I go to bed. Now that I’m back at work (pumping, cleaning bottles, etc) I would rather just rinse, wash and dry and be done with it.

I went with the OS pocket diapers so they will last to potty training but am debating slowly switching over to AIOs as my budget allows. I would love to try these diapers.

To answer the question, yes, I have only used pocket diapers, and so I don’t know anything different, but I do not like how long it takes, and how you have to get them just so or they leak, and some inserts don’t fit in certain diapers… I think I would love to try a non-stuffing diaper!
