CD help my babies clothes fit-she’s a very small baby and with CD, her pants actually fit!

  2. cristina says:

I don’t know that it has “changed” the way I dress my babies in any way. Most of our diapers fit under regular clothes just fine. And since we’ve just always done it with both of our boys, I don’t know how else I’d be dressing them anyway!

  3. Krystal says:

the only way cloth dipes have changed the way i dress Jordan is that i always make sure he’s wearing fleece jammies or wool bottoms to bed! otherwise the bed will be soaked.

  4. Jannette Malone says:

It did for a little bit but we got over the “what if they leak” stage of things once I could fold my prefolds to fit just right. I did though get some little-legs for my little girl (due in March) and think I’ll use them with just a onecie for the most part. just to make it easy on myself.

  9. Lindsay Brown says:

My twins have ‘junk in the trunk’ all on their own so when you add the cloth diaper on top of it – they get very bootylicious so we usually stay in fleece pants, sweatpants and leggins when we’re just staying around the house. I have to buy the next size bigger in jeans and other pants for them and hem them so their ample rear would fit in them! ;)

I’ve always used cd’s so I don’t know how I dress my daughter differently. She wears a lot of dresses so her cute bum shows. Sometimes I have to size up on pants but not very often.

  26. Wynn says:

My kids clothes actually fit. I didn’t use cloth diapers until my son was two and my daughter was for months. They are both tall skinny children and I always had the problem of waist too big or legs too short. Now with that little extra cushion they actually fill out the pants waist size needed to be long enough for there legs.

when i was using prefolds with bummis covers, i just bought capri pants in a bigger size than what i needed. the length fit like pants and the backside had more room. now i use fbs on my girls and no problems. very trim cds.

  30. Sierra Z says:

Since i’m starting with cloth there will be no different. I could see not always covering them up like you would a sposie. Also things like baby legs wouldn’t get used.

  31. Julie H says:

CD’s have not changed the clothes my son wears. His pants probably fit a little better with them.

  32. Amy says:

  50. I have found that my babies usually need to wear one size bigger in pants to accomodate for the bulk of the cloth diapers.

  93. Kristi DeHaan says:

  94. melanie says:

Nice giveaway too. I am tempted to start cloth wipes but am still building a dipe stash!

  95. lynda says:

Wipes are the one thing that we have not gone to cloth yet, because I’m just not sure which direction to go. This would be a fabulous start for us!

My son was born premature and is now a very little 2 year old with a very little butt. Now, cloth diapers help hold his pants up!

  230. Sarah G says:

We definitely have problems with pants fitting. Pants big enough in the butt to accommodate the CD are way too long on her. But we make it work.

It means that I don’t ever even try and put baby jeans on her. Babies don’t need jeans anyway…
She is already tall for her age so usually buying a bigger size stretchy pant works out well.

yes, cloth diapers have changed how I dress my DD… I tend to put more skirts on her with babylegs just so I can show off her cute little cloth diapered butt to the world!!! Also, her pants fit her so much better since she has such a tiny bottom and waist… they give her a little more fill into her pants!! LOL

It hasn’t really changed the way I dress my son. He is tall and skinny so the diapers actually make his clothes fit as opposed to falling off his waist. It will be interesting to see how it changes for our upcoming twin girls though. Thankfully, I’ve been blessed with a great stash of FuzziBunz os which are super trim and cute so I imagine it won’t change much for them either- except of course for the fact that I will probably let them roam in just diapers much more than I would otherwise :)

  271. Michelle says:

In the summer I would let him show off his diaper by dressing him in either just his colorful diaper or his diaper with a tee. Now I just size up a bit on his onesies and pants. He’s a skinny little guy, so a little extra padding on the bum actually helps him fill out the winter clothes he already has.

  273. Cloth Diapers just add to his style!
He’s a smaller kiddo, so with cloth diapers his pants actually fit. Or, at home he sports cool diapers with a onesie and baby legs.

I just started cloth diapering my son a week ago and so far, I haven’t had to change the way I dress him really. He had been wearing 24 months pants, but since he started crawling he’s slimmed down quite a bit and went back into his 18 months pants. Now that he’s wearing cloth diapers, I just had to switch him back into the 24 month pants.

I haven’t tried my CDs yet as DD was just born 10 days ago and still seems very small, but I did buy some larger than newborn sized items to accommodate the CD once we get going on that in about another week.

I’ve used cloth diapers from the start, but have found that I do not like to use two piece outfits, as the pants tend to get soaked.

  288. Joni says:

My baby is just 6 weeks old and so far, her sleepers fit over her cloth diapers just fine. I am wondering how things will start to fit once she starts wearing her BGs and other pocket diapers.

  289. Heather says:

We use BumGenius 3.0 and they seem to make our daughter’s torso a bit bigger, but that’s about it. So far, no bigger pants, etc., but she’s a bit bit for her age (she’s in the 80th percentile for weight and height, and always has been!) so I am not sure if the cloth makes a big difference or not. :-)

When I first started cloth diapering I bought all of my daughters pants one size bigger to accomodate her “fluffy” booty. But when Bumgenius OS Organic AIO snaps came out they are so trim you can barely tell there is a cloth diaper underneath and now she is in her true size for pants!
