  1. We will not be traveling far for the holidays, since our families live within an hour’s drive. We will be cloth diapering when we go visit our families, as we always do.

  4. We might. And if we do, we’ll definitely bring our cloth! Every trip/vacation we’ve taken in our nearly 4 years of cloth diapering has been made with cloth. :)

  16. We are traveling and we are going disposables. We are flying 1200 miles, they charge by the bag, and we have to drive 300 miles between destinations. That’s a hard trip - and though I LOVE to CD, it’s just too much. Ok, I’ll duck the egg-throwing now!

  17. Hoping to stay home! We did use disposable over the Thanksgiving holiday though.

  19. We will be traveling for the holidays and I do plan on taking our cloth diapers with us. It won’t be any different from when we are at home. I don’t see any reason to change our routine- it’s so easy anyway!

  20. We won’t be travelling further than 20 miles to visit family for the holidays. I’m pregnant this year and it’s been far more stressful than with my son so I will most likely not cloth diaper while we are out to avoid worrying about changes every hour. Just being honest!

  97. I do plan to travel over the holidays. We are going to my dad and stepmom’s for Christmas. I won’t be using cloth diapers while we are at their house. The biggest reason why not is because their water is the type that when you shower it feels like the soap never rinses completely off. I will be taking my cloth wipes with us, though. I’m really hesitant to use regular wipes for longer than a day out shopping after we had a serious diaper rash in the beginning. Plus I can just wash them in hot water and not just use soap until we get home.

I asked our hostesses to make sure they didn’t mind me washing in their machines, and they were fine with it. We will use cloth on the airplane, but for the 13+ hour car trip we might do disposable to cut down on odor and not having a place to rinse the diapers.

I don’t see any reason to buy sposies when we travel since we already put the money into our CDs. Next time I will remember to bring the right kind of detergent so I don’t have to run out and buy a new bottle though!

  249. I might be travelling to take my children to see my soon to be ex-husbands family - it’s a 4 hour drive. I will definitely continue to cloth diaper during that time because I have no choice. My son has a pretty severe allergy to disposable diapers that he developed about 3 weeks ago. He developed a rash that started bleeding and was spreading up his belly and down his little legs :( I tried destin, destin creamy, boudreaux butt paste, anti-monkey butt powder, cornstarch, baby powder with and without cornstarch, nystatin… finally I tried antacid (milk of magnesia) and switched to cloth diapers. It cleared up almost overnight. It began to heal almost instantly when I started using prefolds with him. (I used them without diaper pins just wrapped around his little bum then i’d put my daughters plastic pants on him or a pair of her shorts. (she’s 2) He feels much much better now that he has a fluffy butt :) I’ve had to use a disposable or two since I switched and every -single- time i do…anywhere the disposable touches him breaks out in an immediate rash.

  253. my hubby is deployed and i’m in Alaska with my 4 little ones. I’ve decided to “hop” on some military flights with all my boys and try to get myself near family this Christmas! looking forward to the adventure and seeing how cloth diapering 2 children while hopping planes will be! should be fun and super exciting! Merry Christmas to all!

  260. We will be staying home or near home. I am just adjusting to cd’ing while out because this is my 4th child but 1st one in cloth, so took some getting used to but after the first about 2 weeks, I LOVE it!!

  261. No traveling, but I plan on using disposables when we travel to my parents. A few days would be no problem with cloth, but a whole week would be way too much packing for the plane.

  262. We’ll be traveling to my parents’ house for Christmas and we will be using cloth. My parents are very supportive of CDing and let us use their washing machine, so it’s not all that much different from being at home :)

  263. We’re traveling up north for a week and decided that we’re just going to take a break from CDing for the holiday. To many people in one house + one ancient washing machine + hard well water = disaster.
I hope to win the prize!!

  277. We plan to travel over the holidays. I am trying to figure out how to take our cloth diapers with us but I am not sure if it is going to work. Hubby’s parents live in the middle of the country with REALLY low water pressure. We have a bunch of disposables left so we might take those instead.
