  12. Erin_A says:

I can see the one-size pockets being the most practical choice. With pockets you’re kind of limited to one use and then a wash as opposed to perhaps a wipe out and second use that you can get with some cover/insert combos. The one-size option makes them appealing because they’ll last you for a longer time with your baby even if you’re laundering them after every soil. Personally, I think pockets are a good choice for going on outings if you’re not using other options. They can be all wrapped up and secured (kind of like the way people wrap up disposables) before being put in a wet bag, so the mess seems like it would be less of a hassle to deal with until you can get home. I do like prefolds with covers for at home use, though.

I have ONE of the one size diapers…but to be fair, it was from China. I got ONE to try it out before making my decision. Needless to say it was too confusing so I stuck to a Medium and my son still fits in them. As for the onesize pocket diaper I just pulled it out today and it doesn’t look like it would fit him. The only time I managed to use it was for a water diaper. I would be curious to give a different NON CHINA brand a try.

  24. Darlene says:

I love all kinds of pocket diapers. I use both the all in one and fitted that I make. I prefer the fitted with a cover. I haven’t tried the one size pocket yet.

  25. Susan says:

Hands down, I prefer OS Pocket Diapers! My initial order when we first started CDing was for 15 OS BGs! I made the right choice for us! They’ve worked for 2 of my ‘older’ babies (at the time 14 months & 2.5 years), and then I put the same diapers on my newborn when he was 5 months old!!! I love that it’s adjustable is size!!! They are more $$ up front, but worth it if you use them for different ages/sizes!! :)

I really like the pocket OS diapers. My favorites are Bum Genius and Happy Heiny’s, although HH have a lot more velcro and tend to stick to the diaper inserts when I wash them. Since cloth diapers are so expensive, I would only use the OS.

I haven’t used many types of one-size or pocket diapers. If I was going to go with more pocket diapers, I would want one-size or two-size (like the Thirsties Duo Diaper etc.), to get more out of the investment. Pockets are kind pricey.

also, I have to say that even though I didn’t win last week, I am so glad that Betsy (one of the people I referred to you!) did win — happy for her! :)

I love the one-size pocket for so many reasons but I am really liking the new AI2′s that have come out recently- Soft Bums, Gro Baby, FLIP. If I were to start cloth diapering today, I think my stash would consist mostly of the FLIP system-takes up less space in my diaper bag and washing machine :)

I love pockets. I think I like the trimness of sized pockets though. I like to keep the bulk to a minimum and my kids are not fast growers, so mediums last me FOREVER!

I just had my baby girl 9 weeks ago and she’s just getting big enough to start with the cloth diapers I bought before she was born. I bought a big, random assortment, including several pocket diapers. I think that there are pluses and minuses to pocket vs. AIO vs. prefolds. The pocket and AIO are both super absorbent and easy to use. The main difference I see is that the AIOs have one less step (you don’t have to stuff them) but since they tend to be pretty thick and the layers of material don’t separate, they take longer to wash and dry.

I like one-size diapers but like sized diapers more. For one-size we have BG, FB and HH and like them all. The fit on a one size diaper seems to be a bit bulkier than a sized diaper. I like variety in my stash though so I’d love some more HH!

I have an OLD OS HH Pocket hand-me-down….. I don’t really know how old it is…. by the time got it it did not fit my 33lb toddler well. I can’t wait to try it on my new babe ……coming in 6 wks. I’d love to try a new one!

  491. Allison Jackson says:

I have never used pocket diapers, I’m a prefold and flats kind of momma. However, I would love to give the pockets a try!

  492. Sharon Bohuslav says:

I have not tried them yet.

  493. Rebecca Lloyd says:

I have both pocket diapers and prefolds. I think the pocket diapers are good for daycare and travel and prefolds are good for home.

  494. Steph says:

I love pocket diapers! I think it’s so great when they grow with your baby. Less materials = more green. :)

Well, I’d have to say the pocket I made from DiaperKit.com. But I’ve got some BG 3.0s in the mail right now! :D

  501. Heather says:

I love pockets, that’s all I use for overnight. I have OS for my older daughter, but have some sized ones for my little one. Since she doesn’t fit in the little ones, I have’t tried them, so I don’t have a preference yet.

  507. Meghan says:

I have a whole stash of BG 3.0 and love them. I chose them over HH because of the flap over the insert slit in the back, and they were $1 cheaper per diaper. I also didn’t like the huge Velcro rectangle on the one side of the HH one-size, but that’s just looks. I love my BGs, but I’d take a couple free HH to try!
