  1. I don’t know if it would work…I bleed and clot heavily for 7 - 10 days each cycle and there aren’t any disposable pads that are absorbant enough so I am skeptical about the success of using cloth pads

  2. I’m 7 weeks postpartem and I haven’t ever used cloth pads before but I hope to try them when my period starts again.

  7. i use cloth pads. why not, we cloth diaper our babies. i like them so much better than paper and plastic pads. mine are homemade, not as fancy as some. i would love to try lunapads!

  8. I’ve never tried them because I have a heavy flow. But since my FB do so well with my son, I’d love to try the Luna Pads!

  9. Yes, absolutely! I got my period back very early postpartum last time, and within a few months I made the switch from disposable pads and tampons to cloth pads and a diva cup. I was one of the best womanly decisions I’ve ever made! They are so much more comfortable and I no longer dreaded my period like I once did. They’re also cute and the environmentally friendly factor makes me happy. I’m now pregnant with #2. Just thinking about the chemically smell of the disposable pads I used postpartum last time… uggh, it makes me gag. I am now happily stashing up on my cloth postpartum pads. :)

  10. I haven’t used them yet, because I’m pregnant with my second already and my first is only 9 1/2 months old. I did get my period back at about 5 weeks postpartum though, so next time I’m hoping to use cloth pads. My friend is making me some postpartum ones, but I’d LOVE to have this stash too! I’m really looking forward to using cloth pads instead of the yucky disposable pads - I’m hoping it will make me much more comfortable during my period.

  12. I do use them. I used them postpartum 10 months ago and they worked great then, so anyone could use them (no matter how heavy the flo). I’m just returning to fertility (I’m nursing) and so have ordered more. I’d LOVE to win these to help ‘feed MY stash’!!!

  13. I have not used cloth pads yet because since I found them (shortly after I started using cloth diapers for my daughter) my cycle has yet to return. I am absolutely planning on using them and the Diva Cup when my cycle returns.

  16. I started looking into reusable pads and the diva cup between boys 1 and 2, but then I got pregnant. I haven’t resumed my cycle yet, but this reminds me I need to get started on further research!

  17. I do use cloth pads. In fact this week I just got my period back at 11.5 months post-partum. I bought a bunch for the post-partum time but didn’t buy much for regular use. I kept telling myself once my period returned I could get some more. But I would love to win rather than buy!

  24. I just ordered my first cloth pads yesterday from Amazon! I just found out that I can toss them in the baby’s diaper pail, and wash them right along with his dipes. Score.

What kept me away before was the idea of keeping them soaking in a ceramic pot whose water must be changed daily. Ew. And DH would certainly think “EW.”

I have been feeling quite hypocritical each month, using disposable pads while I change my little guy’s cloth diapers. So, cloth pads, here I come!

  27. I don’t currently use cloth pads, but I’ve been using a Diva cup for a year or so, along with organic cotton pantyliners when needed. The only reason I haven’t yet invested in washable pantyliners is simply the convenience factor and the unknown. However, now that I’m starting cloth diapering, I realize how easy it actually is wash pads and diapers! This Friday giveaway has definitely inspired me to give cloth pantyliners a try!

  28. I’ve never tried cloth pads, but having washed cloth diapers for 8 months now I think I wouldn’t mind the washing that comes with them. My friends and I swear by the Diva Cup, but we haven’t yet tried cloth pads.

  30. I have not yet used cloth pads, no. For some reason, I find it hard to wrap my head around having to keep around messy pads/pantiliners… but, since we cloth diaper and have to keep *that* around, I suppose this isn’t too different. And, really, it’s a smart option (both for the environment, and the savings of being able to reuse pads!)

I’ve heard good things about Luna pads!

  32. The only reason I haven’t used cloth pads yet is because I’m still nursing and haven’t gotten my period back. before my son was born, I would have thought that was so gross, but now that I’m cloth diapering and have seen the cloth pad options, I will definitely only be using cloth pads or the Diva Cup. It looks so much healthier… Not only for me but the environment! Plus, washing can’t be worse than washing poopy dipes!

  38. I haven’t used them, but want to try them. I began researching cloth diapering when I got pregnant and that led right to cloth menstrual pads. I have been planning to use them postpartum for some time because I just can’t stand the thought of having that sticking, plastic-y, unbreathable stuff next to me when all that tender tissue is healing.

  46. I’ve used cloth pads for over a year now and still love them! Sometimes it’s awkward when the flow’s heavy, but I just need to get one of those special bags. I’m glad I don’t have to live without ‘em!

  48. I haven’t tried them but became interested when i began cloth diapering. However, over the last 6 years I have been mostly pregnant or nursing and haven’t taken the time to do the proper research during the few months I have had a period. Though pregnant now, and soon to be nursing again, a give-away like this is the perfect opportunity to get started!

  51. I have a heavy flow too, but the diva cup and cloth pads works much better then disposables. Maybee because my approach to periods changed when I started with cloth…
Luna pads are also easy to adjust and they feel more secure than disposables. If anyone have problems with leaks, I can recommend their leakproof blanket!!

  53. I don’t yet, but want to. I purchased a diva cup and a few tester WAHM panty liners, but didn’t get a chance to use them before getting pregnant again ;-) I would love to get some mama cloth, and hopefully I will be able to save some cash and buy some for postpartum use before our newest bundle arrives in August!

  54. I have never tried Luna pads or any other cloth pads yet. since our decision to cloth diaper our new little girl who should be arriving any day now, I have really put a lot more thought into the impact of “disposable” pads and tampons and I can’t believe that I was taught to use them and throw them out and never to think of the consequences. We also have a 7 year old little girl that I am just thrilled is learning about how to take care of our environment by watching the actions that her father and I are taking. I am currently weighing my options on which pads to buy– there is no doubt that this is the best and most responsible choice for me.

    Comment # 54 | Posted by Kate | May 17, 2009, 3:46 pm
  55. I’ve only been CDing for 3 months now but I did buy 2 cloth pad sets with my last diaper purchase. I tried them on day 3 of my period this time and I think I need to try a different brand. Like my DS I leak right through MF!!! Eventually I’m sure I’ll get the courage to try the Diva Cup but I rarely use tampons anyway so that may take a while to get used to!

In fact I’ve heard that my flow would not be so heavy, that it’s the plastic and chemicals that are pulling “your flow” out of you. Sorry TMI. Thanks for the chance, I would love to try these.

  65. YES! YES! YES! I use the cloth pads, there is absolutely nothing any better…I began using Natracare a few years ago due ot our change over to organics and found a huge difference in my monthly..meaning no more chafing and rashes which until then I never knew was due to the chlorine and other chemicals in the fibers of the pad. While at a Natural Foods expo in Baltimore I was given a sample of a sponge tampon, a diva cup and 2 cloth pads…oh my…the cup I looked at as “gotta think on this”, I am not a tampon girl, so that got set to the side but…I used those cloth pads and actually found them to be the best thing since the discovery of electricity..they are very absorbent, wonderfully comfortable and EASY to clean and reuse…each “time of month” is now the same as any other day…comfortable, clean and fresh…without any side effects of “the Yeasty Beasty” that used to occur every month…EVERYONE should try these you will never use anything else!!!

  66. I haven’t tried cloth pads yet and I don’t know why. We use cloth diapers and I have no problem with being that close to my son’s wastes, so why do I still carry a “yuck” factor with mama cloth? I’d really like to try them but just haven’t purchased any yet.
