I prefer organic, but I will use other types. As far as the organic blended with synthetic…I think they shouldn’t even put the word organic in it if it’s not 100 percent organic. I know companies these days do that because they know there are people out there that are about everything organic and if it says it then they buy it not realizing that it could only have 2 organic ingredients out of 20. I think it’s kind of a rip off.
Im a facebok fan!
I agree…I don’t think it’s fair to use the word organic if a product isn’t completely organic…..
That being said, I can’t afford completely organic, so I do buy items combined with other fabrics.

I do not specifically seek out ORGANIC…. I am mostly into CDing for the frugality of it! I suppose mixing fabrics (organic with synthetic) is legitimate, to gain the benefits of each type…. but kind of defeats the purpose for ORGANIC purists.

To be honest, organic isn’t as big of a deal to me as it may be to some. Ideally, sure I would love organic… but it just costs too much for me.
Our family is just starting to get into cloth diapering and for now organic isn’t so important to us.
Organic isn’t a big deal to me. If I buy a diaper I like and it happens to be organic, that is just another plus. That said, I don’t think a diaper should say organic if it’s blended with other materials.

It doesn’t particularly matter to me if a cloth diaper is organic, though I do like the look and feel of things like OBV. If something is blended with non-organic fabrics, I think that should be clearly labeled, for the sake of those who do care about that.

I would choose organic over other options if I can afford it. I would expect the percentage of organic fiber to be clearly indicated in order to be fair to the consumer. I do understand the blending of materials that are a means to an end. I think that sometimes we have to make tough decisions of greenness versus performance.

Organic isn’t a big deal to me. I feel the detergent it is washed in all the time is more important. I feel that if it is a blend then it is not really organic.

organic is nice and I seek it out when I can. I don’t consider it a dealbreaker when it is blended with other fibers as well. As long as the diaper does what it is supposed to (hold poop and pee) it doesn’t matter. I do notice organics tend to hold more.

Of course organic is preferable to other choices, but honestly, I seem to have better luck with the microfiber as far as leaking and washing/drying goes.

It isn’t important to me. My reason for using cloth is for the cost, and organic is more expensive. Cloth is already much better than disposables, and It doesn’t have chemicals and stuff in it, so why bother with the organic? =) Just my opinion!

I prefer organic. Almost every single one of the diapers I have purchase is lined with organic bamboo or cotton. BUT it is not a necessity. If I were to choose between organic and non-organic, I’d get organic and pay a little bit more for it.
As far as being combined with synthetic, they need to be specific about it on the labeling. Why pay more for something because it is PARTIALLY organic?
Cloth diapers have been a real budget decision for me, so Organic hasn’t really been a big seller or issue. I do like to buy organic if the price point is similar, at least to support the idea. If it’s blended with synthetic, it seems that “organic” really doesn’t apply, but the term is used pretty loosey-goosey, it seems.

I’d love to buy organic diapers, especially since cotton is so heavily treated with pesticides, but so far the financial factor has won out and I don’t have any organic diapers. As long as the packing of something specifies if it isn’t 100% organic, I don’t mind when it says what part is!

I prefer organic, but I can’t always afford it. “Organic” diapers that are blended with something synthetic don’t appeal to me. I prefer to use all natural fibers on my baby, organic or not.
I just found your website today and started following you on twitter. I am so excited my baby is due in two weeks and I cant wait to start cloth diapering!!!

I use a vareity organic and synthetic diapers but I do feel that if something is going to be marketed or claim to be 100% organic that it not be a blend of organic/synthetic. Now there is a difference though like say the BG organic cotton OS is a combo but not in the aspect that the cotton is mixed but that the cover is PUL and that is synthetic. I would consider that fully organic, not if the cotton was blended with say non-organic hemp for example.
sorry I ment blend of organinc/non organic.

It is pretty important to me for 2 reasons: 1) I prefer natural and organic fibers next to the baby’s skin, but that’s not always possible. 2) I like to support the farming processes that lead to organic fabrics. If something is a blend, I am turned off but still more likely to buy it than a non-organic fiber.
Whether or not a diaper is organic doesn’t matter to me. As long as it’s good for my baby and doesn’t give her rashes (which none of the diapers I’ve tried do) I’m happy!

Organic really isn’t a big deal to me, I buy my diapers based on fit and absorbency. Ont hat end if organic fibers are mixed with others I don’t see a problem, but it should be labeled as such.
I buy acording to the features that a diaper has that I am looking for. Organic is a plus but I will buy either. If a product claims to be organic…It better be ORGANIC.. Dont add on extra syntyetic fabrics and then try to sell it off as being organic. If you want to provide synthetic materials as an OPTIONAL add on to an organic diaper then fine… Sell them seperate from the organic lable. (example..dont label a diaper as organic and then have a layer of suedecloth or microfiber sewn into it.)
Organic diapers are just one factor I look for when considering what type of diaper to buy. More important for me are absorbency, durability, and fit. If a diaper labels itself as organic I think it should be completely organic.
I think organic is important. However by simply using cloth diapers we are already helping the environment a great deal. I think a company should not falsely claim to be organic if in fact its not. That is mis-leading the customer. Your product is either organic or its not.

I prefer naturally grown and pesticide free as much as possible, I admit, but I’m also aware how “organic” isn’t always used that way. So, as natural as possible is my preferred. And if that’s combined with a synthetic fabric to provide better comfort/fit for baby, then I’m for it.

I always purchase organic diapers. If I’m going to use cloth in an attempt to keep weird stuff off my kid’s bum, why would I let the cloth have weird stuff in it? Which leads to the next question: I only allow synthetic materials in the outer shell of the diaper, at least while my little one is young. Now that she’s getting bigger and hasn’t shown allergies I’m not as worried.

I do like buying organic items, but it is not necessary. My son’s skin is sensitive, but as long as the materials do not irritate his skin, I’m happy. We do use organic cleaning products, though, and just as with cloth diapers claiming to be “organic” when they have synthetic fibers, many cleaning products claiming to be organic are only 95% natural if you look closely at the label. I think it’s a farse- ppl see the word organic and want to buy it. Items should not be able to advertise as organic unless they are 100%!

My main objective when I started cloth diapering was to save money, so organic vs. non-organic was not my concern. I ended up going non-organic because it is cheaper, and it’s still a cloth diaper so it’s already easier on the environment. Organic blends are fine, but it does sort of defeat the purpose in my opinion.

I think that for me it is more important for the fabric to be mostly or all natural as opposed to being organic. If there is 17% stretch in it, I guess that is fine. I use PUL covers so who am I to be a stickler about synthetics.
I blogged.

I would love to be able to use only organic dipes, but can’t seem to afford them. So I’ve only got one so far in the stash.

I am not really particular about buying organic. I did try with my DD because she had a horible diaper rash for 3 months, but nothing helped. As far as blending I don’t have a prefrence. I don’t buy organic.

Organic isn’t a huge concern to me as it is more about performance!!
I’m not too worried about buying organic diapers. I just want a diaper that absorbs well, while still being trim.

I had such a hard time finding a diaper that fit my skinny and long daughter that organic was not high on the list, but I do try when I can.

If a product boosts to be organic…but really is only an organic mix…it should not bare the organic name…its a fraud…its only organic if its 100% in my book…ps. read your lables carefully ;-)

Organic is not a make or break thing for me. If it’s organic and synthetic all wrapped in one, I think it kind of defeats the organic side of things…if it’s organic, give me 100% organic!
Just became a FB fan!
Organic is not a factor for me. Maybe if it was more affordable I would choose organic, but I think those who CD are already doing a great thing for their babies and the earth.

The organic label is not that important to me. It usually means the diaper is more expensive. I do prefer natural fibers but it does not have to be organic.
For me, it really doesn’t make a difference.

Honestly, its not important to me at all if a diaper is organic as long as it does its job!!!

It doesn’t really make a huge difference to me. The organic tend to be more expensive which is the main reason I shy away from buying them.

I like the idea of things being organic, but don’t opt to buy them just because they are organic, I think you can get a good product that isn’t organic, and not all farms can afford to “go organic”
