AND THE QUESTION IS…
Flip One Size Diapers have an available disposable insert to use when traveling, with caregivers, or whenever you need it. How do you feel about disposable inserts for cloth diaper shells?
If you have a blog that promotes cloth diapers, and you want to use the image above, feel free to copy and paste the following code into your blog entry:

I guess a disposable insert is okay, as long as it’s biodegradable. If I had had this when traveling over the summer, I would not have had to use traditional disposables. I don’t think I’d want to use much otherwise, though.
I think its great to have that option!
I left a review for BG 3.0.
I like the option, particularly since we seem to out grow a pack of disposables before we have used even a third. That said, when we use sposies it is because we can’t deal with laundry, and eventually there would be a poopie cover.
I think the idea is alright. I prefer to use cloth inserts regardless. But I suppose if you’re going on a trip or going some place that you just CANNOT cloth diaper these would work. And hey biodegradable is much better than traditional disposables.
I like the idea, but I know my mom, who’s not a proponent of cloth diapering, wouldn’t like if the insert didn’t catch all the #2 and it got onto the shell.

I left a review for the Gro Baby Diapers.
Flexibility is great! More earth friendly is great! Less trash is great! More colors would be nice too :)
I posted about the giveaway on my blog. http://tibbsx5.blogspot.com/2009/11/flip.html
I think it’s a nice option, esp. since the Flip disposable inserts are made absorbent with wood pulp. I’d love to try them and see if it’s worth it (or is it easier to stick with cloth).
I reviewed BG deluxe all in one diapers at diaper junction!
I think disposable inserts are a great option for times when we are traveling! Also, some people who wouldn’t use cloth might consider using a system like this!
Just left a review for Imse Vimse disposable diaper liners!
Reviewed FuzzBunz OS on Diaper Junction!
I received a trial package of the gro baby disposable inserts and tried some the other day while the city was flushing out hydrants and I couldnt do diaper laundry. Here’s the scoop: They’re like disposables without the baby powder stench. End of story. I don’t mind them, and I have quite a few I can use still, but here’s the kicker, if you’re not going to compost them, and you throw out your trash in a plastic bag, if that bag doesnt puncture, it will likely take a while to biodegrade still. However, is it a good option to sneak a friend into CD’ing? Hmm. perhaps. It allows you to put some in your car for an extra with whatever shell you normally use. We will do that instead of ever buying disposables again, as the inserts are thin and can fit into the back of the seat pocket or glovebox. It still felt traitorous to throw the insert into the trash. The gro baby inserts have sticky on them and it was a touch difficult to clean up as well. I don’t think the BG ones do, though, I haven’t looked into it. Oh and poop doesn’t roll off of them. I plan on doing a full review on my blog soon.
It seems like a good solution when traveling away from a washing machine. But I wouldn’t use them everyday.
I think it’s a great feature. More people would probably be willing to try cloth if they knew they could have a disposible option for travel, babysitters, etc.
I know when we tell people we’re using cloth they always ask “what about when you’re away from the house?”
I like that the option is there, since I’d rather people use that than traditional ’sposies. But it’s not something I’m personally interested in using.
I am interested in checking them out. Better than a whole disposible, right?
I like the option for traveling and times when you can’t use cloth. But I think you are better off using cloth when you can because the other still goes into the trash if you don’t compost it.
I think a disposable insert is great especially if it is compostable, flushable, and/or biodegradable. Better for those who may not want to fully do cloth but still reduce their environmental impact (and it may lead them to try out cloth too), and better for those times when you’re traveling or whatever and cloth just isn’t an option with the laundry required. I used gDiapers with the flushable inserts on a recent weekend trip and it was great! I really want to try the Flip diapers as well!
Hey, this is way better than putting more disposables into landfills right??
Shared on my blog:
http://amandacash.blogspot.com/2009/11/feed-your-stash.html
Personally I use CDs to avoid the trash of disposibles so the idea of a disposible insert is terrible to a true CD user.
Blogged it.
I think the daycare will appreciate it. The whole idea of cloth is avoid disposables though. Are they biodegradable? I agree that it is better than using a whole disposable. Wouldn’t you still have to wash the rest? I would think it would get soiled too.
I used gdiapers for a while, which use a cloth cover and compostable insert. I found I just really like the cloth. If I have to use something that I throw out I’m usually in a position that I can’t have a pooped cover with me.
I don’t think that it would be any easier than using a regular cloth diaper. You still need to wash the cover. Why not wash a CD as well.
How do you feel about disposable inserts for cloth diaper shells?
I think it’s a good idea for trips and instances when disposables would otherwise be used.
put on facebook
I agree with as long as you have to wash the cover you might as well have a cloth center
i dont use disposables because of a few reasons but im not about to poo poo someone else for choosing to. its not for me or mine.
The disposable insert can be convenient, but I would prefer it be a biodegradable insert, ala gDiapers’ inserts.
left a review on kissaluvs contour. thanks
I tried the gdiaper and didn’t like the disposable insert. It was just as big as a disposable, in my opinion. So I didn’t really see any pros to it at all.
I love it! We are relatively new to cloth diapering and the idea of traveling with them seems daunting to me. Especially camping!
A good option as long as it is biodegradable. Nice for babysitters and when out and about.
I like the flexibility and convenience of having a disposable insert but I haven’t seen or tried these so I’m not sure I really understand if these would be too different than using a disposable diaper.
I think they are a great option to have for those times when you just can’t wash your cloth ones.
I think the option is nice… I don’t know if I would use it- but I am sure lots would!
I like the idea.Biodegradable inserts can be a better travel solution.
not for me, but sounds like some like it.
Better than traditional disposables and a great option for trips!
I blogged it at http://daydreamingofclothdiapers.blogspot.com/
I think a disposable insert is great for traveling or when you dont have any place to wash the cloth diapers.
I have never tried a disposable insert so I don’t really have a feeling about it. If I was traveling it might be worth trying, but I would still have to store the shell somewhere if it got soiled so I am not sure if having a disposable insert really makes things any easier.
I donno about disposable inserts, they seem odd to me and not too different then putting a sposie and a diaper cover on. I guess if they are biodegradable its ok.
I think they definitely have their place. I know there have been times I’ve been out with one in cloth diapers and a real mess and wish I didn’t have to haul it in the car until we got home. I’ve thought about trying them, but it still somehow feels like it’s defeating the purpose.
I think it’s great - it’s still much less impact than using a disposable, so any improvement is still improvement!
I think it’s a great alternative to disposables when cloth isn’t an option.

Good idea for traveling.
Honestly, I think that if people like them great - but they really are not my thing.
Disposable inserts would be fine, if they weren’t expensive. I’m making and using my own diapers to save money over sposes. Of course, I like the idea for those who don’t want to go all the way with cloth. Definitely saves on landfill waste.

I think they’re a great option for families looking for the convenience of a disposable, but who are concern about the environment, as well as for travel, sitters etc.
Financially it’s about the same cost as disposables so that’s a downside for me and I feel like it’s easier just to throw all my diapers, inserts and wipes in the diaper pail and not have to worry about a separate trash can.
Posted on my blog’s Facebook page! http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Cloth-Diaper-Report/232208780614?ref=ts
I’ve never needed them, but I can see where they would be useful. It might have been especially useful here the past couple of weeks with all the yucky teething diapers we’ve been dealing with!
I wrote a review for the Econobum.
http://www.diaperjunction.com/econobum-one-size-diaper.html#
I agree with the thought of it helping people on the fence about cloth diapering or thsoe who use cloth at home andispoables when out…. they could have options… some people I’ve talked to about CD are afraid of going out and about using cloth, or just aren’t comfortable doing so. This would allow them to use cloth at home and the disposable insert when they are out … until they got used to using cloth fully.
I think it defeats the purpose of using cloth. For those who switched due to money reasons would still have something they are buying and throwing away. As far as the environment goes, the insert is going to end up in a plastic bag sitting in a landfill unless it is flushable. However with daycare centers flushing is not an option, everything has to be placed in a bag a disposed of.
i think it’s a brilliant idea, you don’t have to buy different shells. and sometimes cloth just don’t seem practical
I think they are convenient, and a really good idea. I love the concept of flip. I would, however, use the reusable inserts 95% of the time.
It is a nice option. I actually just posted a product review and giveaway on my blog for a similar product.
I shared this giveaway on Facebook.
I think it makes it a lot easier to travel/go out. We recently took a longer trip, and ended up using disposables because we weren’t sure where we could find a laundromat. This would make it work!
Sounds okay for extended travel as long as it is more cost effective than disposables. I do prefer to use cloth diapers exclusively though.
It’s great that cloth diapers are green, but that’s not why I use them. I use them because I don’t want to spend $25 every week on a pack of disposables. So I think it’s sort of foolish to buy cloth only to put a disposable insert in it.
Disposable inserts are a great option when you are on the go and it is nice because these inserts breakdown quicker than disposable diapers.
I definitely don’t think it’s an option that I would use. However, if it’s that one thing that pushes someone over from using all disposables to using cloth with a disposable option, then I’m all for it. It can be the gateway diaper ;)
I think it is a great alternative, but I am a cloth user all the way;). Would love to try one just to be able to give good information on both options. The more cloth users the better!
Ooo would love to add another to my stash!
I really like this because we do use disposables when traveling, but cloth whenever we are home. This would allow us to use cloth which is what we prefer!
I really like all cloth, but sometimes (like vacation) you need a disposable option. I think it’d be great if all disposables were biodegradable.
100 % LOVE the idea. I so wish they had come out befor I spent any thing on pre-folds. I just hope they are eazy to use and pack.
I would love to try the flip disposables for vacation. I think this is a great option for traveling with cloth diapers. My husband would LOVE a disposable insert for our diapers!
facebooked it.
I love the disposable insert option for traveling. Lugging 20 diapers on vacation and then finding a W/D every other day isn’t exactly restful. I am eager to try out the Flips and disposables over Thanksgiving!
I love the idea. It is esp. good for camping or for those trips you don’t have time to go to a laundry mat.
I like that I wouldn’t have to go the entire sposie way either. I hate sposies and a half way alternative is great IMO! Plus I wouldn’t see it as a big deal to hand wash a cover here and there if it got dirty.
I think the disposable inserts are a “happy middle ground” for moms wanting to travel, or for daycare perhaps. I use disposables when I travel - I would like to try the flip system or the GroBaby disposable inserts!
Personally, I prefer not to use anything disposable, but appreciate the option - if it is compostable/flushable/biodegradable - for those who would use those options and who are resistant to/ unfamiliar with cloth.
I shared this on my facebook profile.
I think it’s a good idea.
Added a review on Thirsties covers
here:
http://www.diaperjunction.com/thirsties-diaper-cover.html#
I haven’t used cloth diapers yet but am ready to take the plunge…I think!
I think it is a GREAT option for those not yet sold on full-time cloth diapering, OR for when you are out and about with a cloth diapered baby. Instead of taking full cloth diapers and having to tote around full, wet dipes, you can toss the wet disposable insert and then just tote the cover. And it is a great transition from sposies to cloth, which I am in the process of right now! :)
I think it rocks. :)
Sometimes a disposable insert is a convenient option. I really like that these are biodegradable and I can still use my cute cloth covers! We used disposable inserts for a week when traveling recently and I really liked it.
i don’t like the idea. if you need a disposable when you are out for long periods of time then get a disposable. the hybrid/in between idea seems kinda not right for when you need a disposable and kinda wrong for being a cloth diaper. kinda defeats the whole purpose. but that’s my opinion.
I think it’s great to have a disposable diaper option.
I think it is great to have a disposable option with cloth diapering! I can’t wait to try it out.
I use disposibles if we take a trip by plane. I honestly dont think I would use the disposible insert with a “FLIP” cover, only because if there is a poopy diaper there is bound to be a poopy cover. JMO
I left a review :)
I think there are occasions where a disposable insert is both practical and welcome - traveling is the time that comes to mind. Sometimes you just need the ease of a disposable.
I think these are a great idea! I think I rather do cloth than use the disposable inserts though, even when traveling. It’s cool it makes cloth diapering easier for everyone.
Left a review for the bumgenius 3.0 one size pocket diaper
I have used liners while using cream on my sons rash. it doesn’t catch all the poo, perhaps because it is the breastfeeding baby poo, so it really wouldn’t save me any washing while on travel.
I would prefer not to use disposable inserts, but sometimes there are situations where it would work better, such as while traveling. I guess a disposable insert is better than a whole disposable diaper.
I’m all for it if it’s biodegradable, even flushable! I think my sitter would be more willing to try these.
I’d be willing to give them a chance for traveling or when we need to use diaper cream for a rash.
I follow on twitter (owsleyjb)
I facebooked it!
I like the idea but I don’t see myself using it very much. I really prefer my daughter’s fluffy butt and we are usually in CD friendly situations. We are planning a trip and I was considering this as an option. I like that it is biodegradable so I don’t have the guilt I so often do when/if I need to use a disposable. I might give it a try
I think they are a good idea. In addition for being an alternative to disposables for people like me who use cloth at home and disposables when we are out, I think they might help to open minds of people who are opposed to cloth diapering and maybe pave the way for cloth diapering in day care and preschools.
It would be a nice alternative to disposables while traveling. I don’t think I would use them for everyday.
I posted about this giveaway here:
http://beccalynn521.blogspot.com/2009/11/cloth-diaper-giveaway.html
I think it’s a great option for flexibility, but I definitely wouldn’t use them all day every day. I think it might also help win over some people who are on the fence about starting cloth diapering.
I started off diapering my son in gDiapers which is a similar concept. I think it’s a great idea for those hesitant to use cloth. It gave me the confidence to go all cloth. It also gives more flexibility while traveling.
I think it is a great idea for travel. I bought a flip diaper last week and two inserts just to give it a try… if I like it I will buy the disposable inserts for a trip in November.
I wouldn’t use them myself, but I think they are mostly there to get people who wouldn’t normally cloth diaper to perhaps consider using them. It is an easy intro to cloth diapering.
I think that is a great option when you are traveling. Sometimes when traveling you don’t have the opportunity to wash diapers every day. Having the option to use disposable liners is great.
I think it’s okay to have another option when you are traveling and since we use a disposable at night and when we travel for extended periods, I am okay with the disposable insert as it is less waste than a whole diaper.
I think that is a great idea to have when traveling long distances when you don’t have time or places to stop and do a load of laundry. I would use it for a long car trip to grandmas or something like that. Thanks for the chance! bekki1820cb@gmail.com
I like the idea of the flexibility, however, it seems sorta silly to have a disposable insert and still have to launder the shell. If you truly weren’t at a place that you could do laundry, then you would have a collection of wet/soiled shells :(
We use our G diapers when we travel and don’t have room for all of our cloth. It isn’t my favorite idea, but I figure it is better than the disposables.
I think it’s great as a backup.
I don’t think I’d use disposable inserts in a cloth diaper. The whole point of disposable is to not have to deal with diaper laundry. You can’t guarantee that the covers won’t get dirty and require washing. If I’m going to deal with diaper laundry, I might as well go all out and just use cloth.
I’ve been wanting to try a disposable insert system for a while. We only use disposables when we travel, and I hate it, so I would love an alternative!
I think it will certainly make new moms consider some options even if they are scared of the idea of cloth. Kind of like the gdiaper. Certainly better for the environment, as the waterproof portion is getting used over and over. I’ve always wished these hybrid diapers weren’t so much more expensive than traditional disposables though.
I think it would be a good option for those parents who want to cloth diaper but have to leave their child with those who aren’t comfortable with it.
Meh, not a huge fan of the idea. It’s better than disposables though I suppose.
I left a review on the bum genius 3.0
Disposable inserts can be helpful when out but why use cloth diapers if you want to go disposable? Using all cloth is the best choice for us.
i prefer cloth but think it’s a great alternative. it opens up the cloth diaper world to a bigger audience. it might seem easier to someone who wants to be greener and healthier for their child yet doesn’t want all the work of exclusive cloth. i would even consider for camping.
I’m okay with disposable inserts… I use the g’s right now when I am going somewhere that I have to change in public… It just feels more sanitary than chancing having to dunk in the toilet! Euuu I hate public bathrooms! I’m curious to actually see a flip disp insert to match them up to a g-insert… I should buy a small package they are cheap enough!
I would love to have disposable inserts for traveling. When we go on long trips now, I use disposable diapers. Disposable inserts would be a better option to me!
I’d have to use/ see it to see how I felt.
I will give the disposable inserts a try, but they do seem expensive, which is counter to why I am trying CDing in the first place. BTW, my birthday is Friday, Nov. 13–wouldn’t this be a great birthday present??!!
I think using a biodegradable liner is ok, especially if you are travelling or just having a hectic time in your life. Sometimes life gets overwhelming and using something like the Flip system gives you the option of simplifying when things get crazy without resorting to full-on disposable use.
I like the idea of a disposable insert, but the gdiapers ones didn’t work well for us. We just use a prefold in our little gpants. But I would be willing to try the Flip.
I submitted a review for Bummis Superbrites! Thanks!
I like the option because of the occasional diaper rash and the need to use cream, which I am currently dealing with.
I think that it is a great option.
We went on a vacation for 2weeks and had no way of washing diapers, so this would have been a great option for that trip.

Review on Diaper Junction
I think they would definitely have a time and place I have had to put my daughter back in disposables in the effort to clear up a diaper rash she has had going on three weeks. I think I would rather use a disposable insert.
I think it would be a lot nicer than regular disposables at times. We do a lot of 6hour road trips for long weekends and it would be nice to not have so many stinky diapers in the back of the car:)
I prefer prefolds over disposable inserts for cloth covers.
It seems like it is a good option that gives you some of the convenience of a disposable.
I think that it’s a good option if you’re traveling a lot.
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/lynn.m.wilson81?ref=profile
I think it’s a great alternative if you’re traveling or if someone is caring for your child who isn’t okay with using/handling cloth diapers. Assuming the insert doesn’t have any plastic, it would probably break down before traditional disposables would.
I think it’s better to be hybrid then full disposable. The reason I fell in love with gDiapers was the ease of disposable without harming the environment. But I ended up hating the design of the little gpants.
I like the option. I have used gDiapers in the past and I liked the flexibility of using either a cloth or disposable insert.
I think they have their place. I know I use disposables for the first few days after birth because that first poop can be a real pain to get out of the dipes. When DS was in the hospital last year with pnuemonia I used ’sposies there (they had to weigh them to make sure his output and input were on track) but I didn’t stop using them until he was done with the abx. Pooping 14 times a day (and gross ones at that) and dealing with cloth diapers just didn’t work for me! A disposable insert would have been a much better option. It’s quick to wash a cover in the sink and hang it to dry.
i’m just getting into CDing and having the option of the disposables makes it less daunting. i tried gdiapers but didn’t really like them. now i have some gro baby diapers to try and i plan to get some flip’s too.
It’s considerate for other people who are changing your child’s diaper. Not everyone has the tolerance for what we do and it makes it easier for the people who are helping moms - who wouldn’t want to do that?!
I think they’re great esp. for those who don’t want to deal with the supposed “mess” of CDing…(family, babysitters, etc…)
thanks!
If I’m using cloth diapers, then I want to use cloth instead of disposable inserts. But I do see and understand the value of a disposable insert in certain situations such as a long drive, being away from home, etc.
“Feed Your Stash” posted on blog: http://ourlittlejerseyboy.blogspot.com/
I think it definitely is a good option for traveling, though I figure that if I am going to be doing cloth instead of disposable while away I might as well do it all the way.
i love them! i have used g diapers and the new biosoakers inserts for grobaby diapers and find them to be very convenient on the go.
Seems like a great option, especially as an alternative when traveling or with the grandparents! Definitely want them to be bleach-free and biodegradable, though.
Facebooked!
I don’t really see the point. If I want it to be disposable because I’m travelling, etc, then I’d use a completely disposable diaper. Having a disposable liner doesn’t really make anything easier, you still have the cover to deal with.
I would try it for trips but wouldn’t be interested in it for use on a regular basis. But then again I might use a sposie because you would still have to rinse the cover for #2. It’s a toss up! I would see how it worked at home and then if it did ok, then a trip!
A disposable option is helpful for travel and for long nighttime stretches of sleep!
I think they are a nice alternative if you are not really sure about cloth diapering but want to try.
Sounds like a useful feature for traveling. I like that they don’t contain all the harmful ingredients that disposables do!
I think it’s a good idea. We travel a lot for our older kids sports, this would allow us to still use our cloth just without the cloth insert. It would be best if it was disposable, then we could feel better about our short vacations from cloth when we are away from home.
I think it is a great option to have.
We are using the GroBaby bio soakers, which I think are a lot like the Flips in how they work. I like the concept and feel it will help make cloth/hybrid diapering more accessible to other parents who want/need disposable convenience. However, I don’t think that the Flips inserts are biodegradable (Please Please Please correct me if I’m wrong!) like the GroBaby bio soakers, so I’ll stick with GroBaby :)
I put a little note at the bottom of my blog at http://kindofahippiemommy.blogspot.com/
:)
Disposable inserts are a great idea for traveling–I like having different diapering options for different situations.
I think that it’s always great to have more options. Sometimes it’s really nice to have a disposable. To have a disposable insert with a cloth cover would be great.
Our soon-to-be little one’s grandparents live far away, so we visit them for weekends at a time. I think disposable inserts will be a great option for those times when we are traveling.
somehow it’s wrong…
I think they are a much better alternative than a regular disposable diaper!
Posted on my blog! http://mommyandpedsnurse.blogspot.com/2009/11/feed-your-stash-friday-new-flip-os-ends.html
I think they would be great for travel, but only if they are biodegradeable. Otherwise, you might as well use disposables. I will have to research them more.
The main reason I went cloth was to save money. At $5 a pop the disposable insert doesn’t seem all that money savey to me. I can usually use coupons and get disposable’s for much cheaper than that. I know, I know, it’s not earth friendly. But I always keep some on hand for emergencies. Like a few weeks ago when I had the flu and was too sick to wash diapers. Just seems to me like it would make more since to just use a traditional disposable in those types of situations.
If a disposable insert option might help get a mommy at least part-time cloth diapering, I think it’s great. I think most people who don’t CD think its more work than it really is. The switch from a disposable insert to a cloth insert is a small one if you’re already washing the covers.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy them. I’ve had no problem CDing full-time, even on vacation. Most hotels have guest laundry, and my parents and in-laws let me do laundry at their house when we visit. Other than the diapers taking up room (what’s one more bag in the trunk?) it’s no trouble at all.
I hope I win! It’s both mine and my daughter’s birthday this week!!
I think it’s a great idea… Cause I know for one my Mother HATES that I use cloth, so for the times when she watches my daughter this would be great! It’s only about one day a month, so it’s better then her using disposable diapers IMO!
I like the idea. I use them with my G-diapers and the are so easy. As long as they don’t hurt the earth its fine with me.
It’s an interesting concept. I think the price for me might be an issue even for use during travel as I will be diapering twins. It might be nice just to have some on hand.

I think the disposable inserts would come in very handy for traveling.
I’ve never used disposable inserts, but they would be useful when traveling–very easy!
It seems to me that the cover would eventually get dirty. The point of using a disposable part, on trips for example, wouls be missed.
I’ve always just used cloth when traveling, but then I’ve always had access to laundry. It would be nice to have this option when laundry wasn’t available. It would give me a lot less dirties to carry home (or hand wash).
I think some PP had some very good points that I have thought about myself, one, if you dont have access to doing laundry, how do you wash the soiled shells? And also, if you are CDing to save money, these inserts are not cheap. Personally, I travelled using cloth and the washing machine I had almost ruined my diapers so I used disposables for the rest of the time. Personally, I use two systems- either all cloth or all disposable (traveling, on meds, etc). But I do like the concept of Flip, giving you multiple options in one system. I have a grobaby set (just shells) but I am a true Bum Genius fan so I would love to see how this system compares!
I think the concept is great for parents who want to CD but don’t have the full support of family and caregivers. But I do agree with others in that what is the point of using a disposable liner if the exterior shell gets soiled anyway? May as well just stick with 100% cloth liners.
I think it’s a nice option to have, especially if you want to be earth friendly when travelling. However, as someone else stated earlier, it’s not that earth friendly if you throw it into a plastic bag instead of composting it. I guess it’s earth friendlier, but still not earth friendly.
I think it defeats the purpose of using cloth. If we’re traveling or leaving her with grandparents, I use a disposable so we dont have to deal with wet/soiled diapers. If I’m at home, or have access to a washing machine, we use cloth so we don’t have to deal with excess trash.

Hi think the disposable inserts are ok if you are traveling or on vacation, but otherwise I think they are wasteful. Hopefully they are biodegradable. I would feel as wasteful as using disposables and probably would be spending more money than on disposables.
I blogged about your giveaway on my blog!
I think its a good idea for those times when a sposie is necessary, traveling, etc. I’d choose the insert over another commercial brand of sposie.
We tried some of the Gdiapers and what a waste of time. They made a bigger poop mess that regular CD did and so what if they are flushable, if you are not at home with the swizzle stick to break up the pulp it will clog the toilet and you still have the liner thingy that the pulp was in to throw in the garbage. For most people the point of CD is to reduce the amount of waste you produce and conserve natural resources. Even if they are using biodegradable wood pulp, they are still cutting down trees. We have taken week long vacations and CD with no problems, it just took a little planning.

Reviewed BAC OUT over at Diaper Junction
I’m a CD loving momma, but there have been times where that isn’t an option. I think if anything having a disposable insert will make more parents willing to try cloth/hybrid cloth diaps!
Reviewed BSWWs :)
I might use disposable inserts, but I’m more excited to try these as a cover/insert system! Having a disposable insert for travel might be nice, but a wet bag is just as convenient.
while disposable inserts are not as bad as a whole disposable diaper ( and I hope these inserts are biodegradable), it seems to negate the purpose of getting into cloth diapering. Resources along w/ energy have to be used every time a liner is made that will then just be thrown out!
I can see where it might be useful to have a disposable insert in some situations, such as traveling, but I also think that it’s really no more difficult to deal with cloth inserts in most situations.

I blogged about this
I think it is great, there are definitely some times where disposable is a better option and this combines the best of both worlds. Not everyone is going to be gung-ho about 100% cloth, so this will be a happy medium for them.
I reviewed Snappis on Diaper Junction :)
reviewed at diaper junction the Smartipants!
Thank you!
im not crazy about anything disposable, but i can see the use of them and wouldnt mind giving them a try! :)
I think they are nice when they are flushable or compostable. I tried gDiapers that I received, but I would never pay for them! They are pricey!
I’m not big into disposable, but I think it would be a nice convenience when traveling
I actually think it is a great idea. I know I have resorted to disposables when we have traveled for an extended amount of time and I think a disposable liner that is a biodegrabale is a great option to try instead.
facebooked it!
For some reason my comment about blogging won’t show up so I’m trying again. I blogged about the giveaway at dirtytreehugger.blogspot.com !
I think disposable inserts could be a good transition to using cloth, but after using a few biosoakers from grobaby, they don’t seem all that convenient and actually more work. You have to keep the shell but throw away the insert. It’s kind of like using cloth diapers and disposable wipes…it’s just easier to go all cloth.
I left a review of tiny tush one size trim at diaper junction!
I dont know how I feel. I guess for people who dont feel comfortable washing the poopy diapers like my MIL lol I think it would be good for them
Facebooked it!
I would love them! I hate cleaning the nasty diapers, I always just leave them for my wife to deal with. I guess as long as they are easy I could do them
posted the link on my facebook
Man disposible inserts! they are really trying to reach out to all the parents to try and go at least partially green! its cool though. I dont think I would ever use them though I dont mind all cloth and really it would be more of a hassle I think
The disposable option is a great idea!
I posted it on my face book and on my twitter phyllipkins
I think the insert makes them more travel worthy. I have used disposibles for travel in the past, but this is less than a disposable and convient! I love the idea..

The idea is great, and it is good to have options. However, I thought I would use definitely use disposable inserts for cloth covers when traveling. In reality, I have just ended up using regular disposables on trips. If you have to wash the poopy covers, you might as well wash the poopy inserts. But when traveling I don’t have my trusty washer and detergent. And when traveling on a plane these days with all the new fees on luggage, whop wants to have to lug around more stuff than necessary? My suitcase is already 49 lbs with all the other baby stuff I need to tote. So I buy disposables when I get to where I am going.

added a review to the Potty Scotty training pants (used them last year for my older son)… I would try them again for my DD once she is ready to go on the potty!
I’ve always thought that something is better than nothing when it comes to helping keep our planet healthy. I’m sure the disposable inserts are much less damaging than a full disposable diaper. I’m all for it!!! :)
I kind of feel that it defeats the purpose, be it cost or environmental. When I travel I prefer disposable.
I leave the cloth to the wife. I may consider a liner if she made me.
i think it is great to have the option especially when traveling when you don’t have a washer/dryer to take care of the diapers. I used them this past weekend with my son on a trip to the mountains and it worked out great. I didn’t have to bring a bunch of diapers only 3 covers and a package of disposable inserts.
I think it is nice to have the option. I usually keep a few disposables on hand at home, in the diaper bag and at day care just in case I forget to turn the dryer on (it has happened before, I blame sleep deprivation :) ), day care runs out of cloth (they certainly don’t want a bare tushie rolling around), or we are traveling. An insert sounds less wasteful than a full disposable diaper in terms of volume of trash. I’d be willing to try some.
We are just starting to make the transition to cloth, and think that the disposable insert could make traveling a bit easier, although it can’t be that hard to travel with cloth inserts.. right?!
i dont like the idea of wasting BUT when it comes to camping they sure do come handy!
I usually use disposables when I leave the house, so this would be even better. I would like to try it out.
I think it would make me leave my disposables behind for good! I think it’s a great idea, especially for the times when someone else is watching my son.

great alternative when needed
I think disposable inserts are a great way to ease into cloth diapering for those who are intimidated with the idea. There are still issues with how to dispose of them (if you can’t compost them) because they probably wont degrade in a landfill and if they have gel in them, they should not be flushed either. Still, they’re better than disposables.
I shared on fb.

I think it is great to have that option, but I’d prefer all washable inserts to save money.
I like the idea. I’ve never used one but it sounds easier for when you’re out and about.
I think it is a great idea. There have been times when I really wished I had a disposable liner when I have been out and about with no place to rinse a messy diaper.

Reviewed Happy Heiny’s One Size Diaper.
This is the first time I’ve heard about one, but I think it could be handy–especially on a day when you’re not at home, and it’s an older baby/toddler.
I think that it’s a good option for someone that’s hesitant trying cloth diapering. It’s better for the environment so I say go for it - but it’s not for me. I’m a cover with a prefold kind of Mama!
i think it’s a wonderful idea! Especially for CD’ing moms when traveling. It’s still a lot better for the environment though
I think they are great if used in moderation. We use gdiapers, their disposable ones are great but they are a little pricey!
