Feed Your Stash Friday: Oct. 16-23, 2009

COMMENTS ARE CLOSED – WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON ON THE HOME PAGE SIDEBAR!

This week you will get the chance to “FEED YOUR STASH” one (1) Kissaluvs V2 Fitted Diaper, one (1) Kissaluvs One Size Contour Diaper, and (1) Kissaluvs Marvels Diaper!

WHO CAN PLAY?

Anyone 18 years of age or older and living in the Continental United States can play. Yes, you can play if you’ve won before. Yes, you can play if you’ve never considered Kissaluvs diapers for your baby’s stash. Yes, you can play even if you aren’t one of those people who shop thrift stores and compost (though we sorta have an affection for “those” people)…see, we’re easy. :)

HOW DO I PLAY?

Follow the guidelines below and be sure to leave any of your comments by Friday, October 23, 2009 at 9:00 am CST.

  • Your first chance to enter is to leave a comment right now to the question below.
  • If you share this giveaway on your BLOG or FACEBOOK account, come back and comment a second time (be sure to leave the link where you posted on your blog if you do).
  • A third possible entry in this giveaway is if you leave a review for ANY PRODUCT at Diaper Junction.
  • With three chances to enter, be sure to come back next Friday morning to see if you won!

HOW DO I KNOW IF I WON?

PLEASE NOTE: The winner’s name is displayed on the HOME PAGE SIDEBAR the following Friday on our “FEED YOUR STASH” Friday graphic; it is also written in the text written below the home page graphic. The weekly winners are responsible to follow the link provided on the home page to claim his/her prize.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE WINNER?

Every Friday morning I enter the number of comments into the number generator at Random.org and take the first number it spits. out. In the past, we did have a very lucky winner take home the giveaway more than once; like I said, it is completely random.

AND THE QUESTION IS…

Have you ever used contour diapers? If so, what brand? Or did you sew your own?

If you have a blog that promotes cloth diapers, and you want to use the image above, feel free to copy and paste the following code into your blog entry:

  1. Erin says:

I haven’t used contour diapers, but I’m really, really curious about them. When I started cloth diapering my son was already 1, so we just got fitteds and covers and stuck with it. I would have loved to go through the stages of trying out different things on a less mobile baby. Something in me thinks that contours would be just as easy as fitted! And my goodness. I wish I could sew.

  2. Melissa says:

Nope, haven’t tried them, but am very curious to see if I’d like them or not.

  3. jen says:

I haven’t tried them either! I mostly use prefolds

  4. jen says:

    face booked

  5. Cristina says:

They’re the only diapering style I’ve never tried!

  6. Suzanne says:

I am just building a stash and have not tried contours. Having a few Kissaluvs would be excellent!

Have not! Would love to though!

    thanks!

  8. maryanne says:

I’ve never tried them, although I did use a contour diaper pattern once to sew a newborn diaper cover…

  9. Elizabeth says:

I haven’t tried them, but I would love to have the chance to try some out for free!

  10. Lynn Wilson says:

I’ve never used contour diapers. I have always thought about it and considered adding them to my stash, but prefolds are just so much cheaper and they aren’t enough of a hassle for me to think I need to spend a little extra.

  11. emd says:

nope not yet, but I’d love to!

  12. Sarah J says:

I liked prefolds, but hated all the bulk around my sons already chunky thighs, so I made contour diapers out of old tshirts. We also have a Bumkins contour that I won in a giveaway.

  13. Jessica says:

I haven’t thought of trying them (my baby is due in Feb). I am mostly into prefolds/flats. I might consider them if we’re having trouble finding something that works for him.

  14. Sarah says:

I haven’t tried contors, we went with pre-folds for cost. It would be neat to win some. I’ve only begun thinking about sewing some of my own diapers and covers–I’m planning on starting with turning an old wool sweater into a diaper cover or two.

  15. Sarah Jo says:

We’ve used Kissaluvs contours. They are so soft!

  16. I’ve never tried contours

  17. courtney says:

mom sewed some for me, they don’t work well, my baby is only 3 weeks and has tiny legs, maybe when she’s bigger we’ll try again.

  18. Vanessa says:

    I’ve never tried them.

  19. Beth E. says:

I’ve bought one and didn’t like it. So I haven’t bought any since.

  21. Beth E. says:
  22. Beth E. says:
  23. Kathy S. says:

I have never used contour diapers. When I first purchased diapers for my daughter, I just got plain old rectangular prefolds, and I’ve had such success with them that I have never considered spending more on a contour diaper.

  24. Kathy S. says:
  25. Kathy S. says:

I reviewed Wonder Wraps at Diaper Junction.

  26. Denise says:

Kissaluv Contours were the first diapers I purchased for my daughter. They worked, but I didn’t have enough, so my Mom & I made some more from old receiving blankets & used old fleece blankets on the outside to increase the absorbency. I like that they were already the shape I needed, I didn’t get the courage to try prefolds until after using contours for a while.

  27. Denise says:
  28. Barb says:

Just started using Kissaluvs fitteds and really like them.

  29. Barb says:

    Just posted this in Facebook.

I’ve never used contour diapers before, only pockets and fitteds. And I’ve never sewn my own diapers before.

  35. Joceline says:

I used to have one Kissaluvs Contour, which I liked, but I sold it because I don’t like to have just one of a bunch of different diapers. Instead, I have a dozen fitteds, a dozen pockets, and a couple dozen prefolds and flats.

  36. Amber Liddle says:

I’ve never used them…I used some prefolds and fitteds, but mostly pockets.

  37. Julie says:

Nope. I’m all pockets, AIOs, and fitteds. But I’ve seen some of the contours and have been intrigued (I’ve seen the Goodmamas and the Kissaluvs).

  38. Teri says:

I haven’t, but I would give it a try. I use mostly pockets and some AIOs.

  39. Heather M says:

Never used contour diapers!! Would love too though!

  40. Jusitne says:

I’ve used one that I made, and I like it, it fits my daughter really good and I dont have to worry about elastic being too tight on her

  41. Patricia Carignan says:

I do use contour I have sewn my own from prefolds and LOVE them… but, I would love to “Feed my stash” and compare my style to the professional ones!!! :o)

  48. Tessa says:

  50. Jennifer says:

We haven’t used contours. But have used prefolds and they have worked well for us. I have been very curious about contours, they’d probably make life a lot easier. Especially having two in prefolds. =o)

  51. Kemi says:

No I have never used contoured diapers before though I have been interested in trying them out.

  52. Beccalynn says:

I have never used contour diapers, but I’m interested in trying them out. I’m interested in all things having to do with cloth diapering because I’m relatively new to it…though I remember changing my little brother’s diaper with tri-folds and diaper pins when I was younger!

  53. Beccalynn says:

I just blogged about the giveaway at my website.

  54. Ruth says:

I’ve never used a contour diaper.

    mykidcenteredlife.blogspot.com

  56. Ruth says:

I left a review on BG Organic AIO.

  57. Georgie says:

I’m still learning what all the CD terms mean and I want to try them all! I haven’t tried any kind of contour yet–I didn’t realize all these options existed when I had DD#1, but I’m going to make amends with DD#2, due in December! I would love to try Kissaluvs! They look very well made.

  58. Beccalynn says:

I’m not sure exactly how to leave a review at diaper junction. Do I just review a product on my blog??? I’d like to review Smartipants since I just tried them for the first time yesterday…

  59. I have used contour diapers but my friend (an Etsy gal who makes pocket diapers!) made them for me out of flannel. I’m not sure what pattern she used–some QSFWF or weird acronym like that :)

We liked them A LOT but only had 2 and they no longer fit our daughter. We’ll use them again with Baby #2, though (due in February!)

  60. i reviewed the Gro Baby diaper!

  61. Christina C. says:

I have never used them although I have been looking into them recently! I love using our Indian Prefolds but they are hard for DH so I’m thinking contours would be a good alternative! Oh! What a great idea! I should try sewing some when I get my new machine! :)

  62. Sarah says:

    I have sewn my own!

  63. Esther says:

    I haven’t ever tried them.

  64. Stephanie Poston says:

Never tried. But wouldn’t mind it!

  65. Jen D. says:

I have not used them except as a doubler. I have some old ones that my SIL sent me that are soft cotton one side and smooth terry on the other. I will often put them in my older two kids diaper as a doubler at night. I like them as doublers, I don’t know how they would do with leaks with no elastic around the leg gussets.

  66. Claire S. says:

    I haven’t, but I’m game.

  67. Meghan says:

On laundry day I use Motherease one-size diapers. I’m not sure if they are considered a fitted or a contour. I like them fine, but the rest of my stash is BG 3.0!

  68. fancygrlnancy says:

I have not used a contour diaper yet. I would love to try them out.

  69. fancygrlnancy says:
  70. Brie Hernandez says:

I have never used one, but I would love to try one

  71. Brie Hernandez says:
  72. Darla Woods says:

Since we haven’t started using cloth diapers yet, no we have not tried contours. However we were considering get a few to use once she was at the 3-6 month old stage and see how they compare to prefolds and if there was an advantage or not.

  73. Monica says:

    Nope. Prefolds and covers here.

  74. Kacie says:

Never used a contour diaper, but would love to try them out!

  75. Ammie says:

I haven’t used a contour diaper before, either. I am liking prefolds more now that Kidoodle is older, and it’s high time to give contours a try, too!

  76. Jana says:

I use fitteds and prefolds, but have never tried contours before. I’ve very curious to try them, though!

  77. Leigh says:

I have yet to try contours. I looked at Kissaluvs for my next, but I have big babies and don’t think they will fit for long.

  78. Kathleen B. says:

    I haven’t tried them yet!

  79. Kathleen B. says:
  80. Michelle says:

I have not tried them. We have a combination of BumGenius 3.0 and GroBaby. They are great because my son’s daycare will use them. However, I would like some other types to try at home and contours would be a perfect type to test out!

  81. Laura C says:

No, we have not tried them. With all the options out there it didn’t even occur to me until now!

  94. Julie B says:

I’ve never used them, but I wish I had a sewing machine, and I’d try to make some. My sewing skills are rusty–they date from junior high home ec–but they seem pretty easy to make.

  101. Shell says:

I’ve tried Imse Vimse contours. They took about 10 washes before they felt soft enough to use, but they work fine – much like prefolds.

  103. Ashley Mansker says:

  104. Tiffany says:

So I attempted to “sew” my own contour, but the thing is I hate sewing and I am lazy HAHA! I Fabric Glued the whole thing with a free hand pattern. Needless to say I quite the diaper making business promptly.

  105. em says:

I have never used contour diapers…but I’d love to give thum a try! :)

  106. em says:

    reposted tu facebook…

  107. Jilliramie says:

I haven’t used contour, only folding ones…though I’m thinking this would be simpler!

  108. Jilliramie says:

I just checked these out, I think they would be really slick to use, and I’m sure my niece would appreciate them! Too bad I don’t have another one in diapers…but, thanks to cloth, they are both potty trained good and early!

  109. Aja says:

i haven’t tried them yet. i primarily use prefolds because they are inexpensive and easy to use, but i would love the opportunity to try contours for free!

  119. Lani says:

  120. Rayna Miller says:

Never used contours, but I have considered buying kissuluvs :)

  121. Heather O. says:

I have used Kissaluvs contours. I really liked them, they were pretty economically priced, and less bulky than triple folds. They are a good mid point between triple folds and pricier fitteds.

  122. Shannon Finer says:
  123. Audrey Zohner says:

I never really considered them because they don’t have elastic around the legs. I might use them as doublers, though.

  124. Jill says:

I got one contour and one fitted along with prefolds for my newborn a year ago, sniff! But wasn’t sure they were worth the extra cost. On a bigger baby it might make a difference, because you go through less, we barely had time to use them before she was out of them!

  125. Cari C. says:

No, I haven’t tried contours yet. I wonder if my wiggly 10 month old could use them without a snappi?

I have used pre-folds and all-in-ones, not sure what a contour diaper is. LOL. Guess I have to research it.

  159. Tamber Jones says:

I am not sure if I used contour diapers or not – still new to CD and trying new things one month at a time!

  160. Jenny says:

I’ve used Kissaluv contours and really liked them – they just weren’t absorbent enough for my super soaker son. I have Bagshot Row Bamboo one-size contours as well – I like the trim fit & super absorbency of the diapers, but the original fit is too wide and bulky for my little guy.

  161. Emily says:

The only cloth diapers we have so far are fitted pocket diapers that I made with the RRP pattern, so I would love a little variety.

  162. Becky says:

I was given some Kissaluv contours and some Imse Vimse contours, but have not tried them yet as I am still pregnant with my daughter and I can’t wait to try them on her! 168. Stephanie says:

I tried an imse vimse contour and I didn’t like it very much because it wasn’t snappi-able so unless I pinned it there was this weird way of how to hold it together while I put the cover on- otherwise I had to overlap the diaper and cover, it’s silly if you ask me.
