I really like Fuzzy Bunz one size. But I’ve only tried a few so far.
I follow on twitter (owsleyjb)
I posted on Facebook
Yes. The pocket diapers tend to have wicking material lining the inside, which keeps my baby’s skin dry and rash-free. The one-size aspect works fine too.
I love one size diapers and they work very well for my baby. BG has been my diaper of choice since I started diapering with cloth only, but I’ve noticed already (she’s only 7 weeks old) that the velcro seems to be getting tired, so I’ve started trying other brands like Smartipants and most recently Happy Heinys. I plan on trying the Fuzzy Bunz one size diapers next. I just LOVE my AIO One Sized diapers, no matter the brand. Each kind has things that I love about it that the other diapers don’t have. They’re great!
I reviewed Smartipants Diapers at Diaper Junction
I posted a link about the giveaway on facebook.
yes, I am currently looking for about 10 more diapers since I have two under 2 and only 24 diapers :(
I hope so… We’re expecting twins within a week and bought a ton of BumGenius 3.0 for them. The price is much better than disposables and we can (hopefully) reuse them for the next couple years. I love the idea of one diaper to use from infancy to potty. And it doesn’t end up adding to
our trash output.
Fingers crossed they’ll live up to my expectations.
I blogged about it here: http://beccalynn521.blogspot.com/2009/10/new-giveaway-from-cloth-diaper-blog.html
I think so. I feel good about the cloth that we do use, however, we could use a few more. When all of ours are in the wash, we use disposable.
If anything its supported our reasoning to use cloth diapers. Disposables add up!
I have always looked for good deals, but even more so now.

Well, the current economy certainly plays a role, but I’m more affected by the fact that I no longer work outside the home. Because my husband is the only one bringing home a paycheck, I have to be more careful, and less frivolous, in my spending. So while I would love to buy gobs of diapers, I have to be more realistic about what we really need, and what I simply *want*.
Our current economic condition actually encouraged us to use cloth but I haven’t been able to try as many kinds as I would like (such as BuBuBeBe fitteds).
The current ecomomy isn’t the reason we started using cloth diapers but it has limited on the kind of cloth diapers we buy. I have not been able to try out all of the ones I would like to. I just try to find the best deals possible!
The economy is a lot of the reason we decided to go with cloth in the first place! We just started CDing with our 2nd baby (born in March 09). Wish I had been doing it all along! We bought OS diapers and bought the bigger size prefolds (we just fold the back down for now) so we wouldn’t have to buy bigger sizes later on.
It hasn’t changed anything for us… saving money is the reason we started in the first place!

Yes. Money is tight so we work with a very small stash. I have a combination of pockets and fitteds and prefolds that can get me through two days max. There is long list of products I would love to try, but it’s just hard to justify extra spending when I can get by with what I have. I’m really glad that I don’t have to shell out money for disposables every week.
Have current economic stressors reduced or changed how you shop for cloth diapers and other natural baby products? Yes, I find myself searching for cloth diapers on craigslist, buying gently used for reduced prices. I am also choosier as to what I buy natural and what I don’t. I prioritize what items I think are most important to go organic/natural on.
Yes, but then again, I’m always a saver, looking for a good deal.
No current economic stressors have not changed my shopping. I’ve always been a savvy shopper, so I’m always looking for a good deal.
posted giveaway link on blog.
It’s the primary reason we decided to look into cloth diapers, but I’m so glad we did! Because of economics, we’re using prefolds and covers I got off ebay (though she’s almost outgrown them) and I’m looking to begin sewing some of my own. I’d really love to win some so I can try out some other styles though!
i was raised frugally and married a frugal guy… and always will be frugal..! it’s half the reason for using cloth…
Not really. We, thankfully, haven’t been too impacted by economic stressors. But we’ve always been on a tight budget, so there isn’t much to change. :)
Not really - we’ve been under a very tight budget since before our first son was born anyways (hubby works FT and goes to school FT while I SAH)so, we mostly get used/gifts…or cross our fingers and toes and hope I win a giveaway, lol! :-D
thanks!
Yes, we are tightening our belt quite a bit and that means less diaper buying. Sad, but I just have to wait a good long time and be very sure we actually need a new diaper. I find that waiting a few weeks before buying helps delay impulse buys.

The current ecconomic times is actually what first motivated me to try cloth diapers in the first place.

The current economy is one of the reasons that I am starting out with cloth diapers and the only reason that I was willing to even try prefolds!
I wouldn’t say the way I shop for cloth diapers and natural baby products has changed exactly. I think I am just more “aware” now. I do always look for discount promo codes before finalizing orders now whereas I was little lax about it before. I also keep closer track of store announcements, always buy on sale and use quantity discounts whenever I can!
We started to use cloth because of the current economic situation, but it also doesn’t allow for use to try lots of different kinds, especially the more expensive ones.
Yes I switched to cloth diapers because of economic stess.
no - we chose cloth more for environmental (not economic) reasons
The current economic climate doesn’t have a lot to do with our decision to cloth diaper. We have decided to do so based on environmental concerns.
the economy is what led me to cloth in the first place. It has also weighed a little on my as far as how much we venture away from prefolds. The work well still for my newborn, so until money situations improve, pockets will have to wait.
My baby is 7 months old, so the economy was bad before I started cloth diapering. So, I haven’t made any changes to the way I cloth diaper, but I don’t know if I would have done anything differently before the economy tanked.
We have lived frugally for years now, it’s a way of life regardless of the state of the national economy. Hopefully though this recession will enourage families to use cloth diapering; there are so many wonderful benefits outside of the finanicial ones.
Yes, we look for things on sale and try to win giveaways.
I am more likely to look for diapers that are gently used now. And we probably keep her in them for a bit longer than we should, size-wise.
I have chosen cloth diapers bc of both environmental as well as economical reasons- the waste associated with disposables was really getting to me - I was going every other week and purchasing a jumbo size box that was just going to the trash. I am very happy with my switch to cloth diapers!
I just haven’t bought any more diapers. Thankfully my current stash is sufficient since my boy is currently potty training.
Even though the economy really hasn’t affected us all that much, I still look for bargains. I look at used cloth diaper sites a LOT, and am less reluctant to “try” things, sticking instead with things I know work. I also try hard to stick to my monthly budget on kids stuff, and often put off purchases to the next month.
Economic reasons were one of the reasons we decided to cloth diaper in the first place. I have set a budget for how much we’d like to spend on cloth diapers but it is hard to stick with i! There are so many types of diapers I’d love to try!
I choose to cloth because of the enviroment and the economy but I’m more about finding my faveorite diaper, that works for us … then trying to recoup a little back on the ones I don’t like on the used clothdiaper swapping sites.
I have only bought the minimum number of diapers we need to cloth diaper our son. It’s great, though, being able to not have to buy more diapers every week. That really helps out our budget.
Yes the economy has played a role in my decisions to purchase cloth diapers. I went with the most economical choice (prefolds) and decided to invest in a few one size pockets in order to minimize purchasing diapers up to the toddler stage.

Somewhat….I would definitely buy more in better conditions!
The current economy hasn’t played as much of a role in my decision as my natural tendency to save money and my conscious decision to be as green as I can.
Disposables became too expensive for diapering twins. If the economy made that happen, then it is one of the reasons I switched to cloth.
We have actually just switched from disposables partly because of the price of them and partly so that we are not adding any more to the landfills.
I originally intended to use only FuzziBunz for this baby (due in 5 days!) but after considering cost, etc. I have decided to use a mixture of prefolds with simple covers, and FuzziBunz. It will be simpler on the budget, but still be quality diapering.

The economy is actually how we started cloth diapering. Though they were given to us. We’ve only bought a pack of gerber prefolds when we didn’t have money to keep buying disposables, 1 cover(for $2! It was at a consignment shotp) and 2 snappis, and 1 fitted on accident. I was lucky enough to have a nice gal from a mommy site help me out because we were so tight on money over the summer when my husbands hours were cut. We still dont have the money to buy diapers, and we dont have alot. I did get approved for Miracle Diapers but I have to be able to stitch down the elastic in the diapers I have and I dont have a sewing machine so I can’t use those diapers.

I started using cloth because of the the economic conditions. I now wish that I had done it a lot sooner!
Reviewed Bac-Out Stain and odor elimanator on the website.
Not really, but I do have a diaper budjet and have a max amount I will spend on a diaper.
The economy is what first sparked my interest in cloth diapers. I am excited about the econobum’s low prices, especially since its from cotton babies!
It sparked my interest, but now I love cloth!
No the economy has not impacted how I shop.
Yes the economy certainly has me thinking of what is a neccesary versus “wanted” purchase. I’m glad we chose to do cloth since we don’t have the cost of disposables week after week. I just wish that there weren’t such adorable diapers out there - I am always wanting to add to my cloth stash and have to keep reminding myself that one of the reasons I cloth diaper is to save money!
Thankfully after my son outgrew his infant prefolds, we purchased a lot of one size diapers to fill our stash. I still have some OS fitteds, prefolds and homemade tshirt contours I use, especially at night, and my son is close to outgrowing covers. To save money I am making a few covers out of fleece. Not sure if they will work yet or not. Still a work in progress! :o)
Yes, I have to be careful and make sure that while all of the other covers are in the wash, I still have 1 or 2 clean ones to use. Plus, we use the prefolds with our covers, so when the velcro quit sticking on a few of them, we replaced it, instead of buying new ones.
I still shop for the diapers I want. Even if they are a little more expensive. Because, I will reuse the ones I like. Which helps keep the cost down in the long run.

I don’t think the economy has changed my view. Was raised to makr Eco friendly choices.
No, we chose cloth to lessen our trash input, and control what chemicals are next to our babies skin.
I had already planned on cloth diapering my second child before the economy issues hit us. I look for specials and just bought some gently loved BG from a friend.
I have always been incredibly frugal, so I’m not sure if the economy has changed how I shop much. I have definitely considered what people would be able to buy for my shower and have made sure I’ve registered for some lower cost diapering options - especially for those people who may not “get” the cloth diapering concept.
Nope - I had most of my diapering needs set up when the baby was first born, so now if I want to try something new, it’s not too expensive.
Economic factors do limit the type of cloth diapers I chose to buy. I’m sure I’ll add some variety to my stash as I get some extra spending cash.
Reviewed the One sized Grow baby diapers! I just love them!!!!
I haven’t needed to buy any new diapers in almost a year because my fuzzi bunz have held up so well. However, if we do have a new addition to our family we will probably go with a one size to help cut back on the number we have to purchase over time.
We ahd chose to do cloth before money got tight but we are really gald we did as it gives us that little bit more every month that would have gone to diapers had we not went with cloth :)
My purchasing habits for cloth diapers and related products are not really impacted by the economy. They are impacted more by the fact that I’m now diapering my second baby and reusing all the diapers from my first, so I haven’t really needed to buy anything new. Although, there are a lot of new products I would like to try once some of these diapers finally wear out!
Nope. I’ve always loved hunting for a deal, so I continue to do so, but I’m pretty sure I would be buying the same things even in a better economy. However, if DH loses his job, things will change.
Not too much. I have slowed down because I don’t ‘need’ any more diapers. We are expecting #2 in Feb. and I’m hoping to use mostly one-size diapers so that they will fit both kiddos. I’ll probably buy a little more before then, but not too much.
Yes, I don’t buy near as many or as expensive of diapers as I used to. I am trying to go as cheap as I can now.
I’ve always been a bargain shopper, so current economic issues haven’t really changed my habits. I’m a first time mom-to-be so I’m definitely researching what the best type of diaper for the best price is.
Yes. When we *thought* we needed a dispy for a rash or other reasons to use ointment, we’re trying to make do with liners instead. A lot cheaper!
With the economy, I am finding myself relying more and more on cloth diapers where I used to use disposable for trips and outings.
I started cloth to save some money, but with my diaper additction going strong I have had to cut back on some of the newer diapers I would like to try.
Not really. My husband and I have always been frugal so we’re always looking for the best deals.
Not really! If anything, we’ve been encouraged to continue trying cloth diapers so we can find what’s the best long term investment and deal. I’m always on the lookout for good deals!

It has reinforced my decision to use cloth. I still think other natural baby products are important (food, shampoos, etc) so I will purchase those for my family and try to find good deals, and stock up when there’s a sale.
Yes, the economy has definitely limited my ability to refill my stash. Although the diapers are showing serious wear, they have to last a while longer, as there is no extra money to restock.
sure has. ive been cding for 2.5years and love buying dipes. i havent bought any new ones in months. i have enough for my girls but still window shop. wish i could buy more or had a reason to;)

I have always tried to be thrifty, but am addicted to good deals even more now days! The smallish stash we use for our 19-month old and soon her little sister have been bought second hand or have been bought when “seconds” go on sale at some of the diaper shops online.
To a certain degree..I am always on the lookout for good deals online and am especially happy when I can find less expensive diapers (like Smartipants) that work just as well as the more expensive ones.

Well I have not bought any in a while as my stash is adaquate. I have not bought much other stuff to go with my diapers due to the economy and my husband not having a job.
i have not bought diapers in a long while and i am more open to second hand cloth diapers, where i would not consider “used” diapers even a year ago.
It’s one of the reasons that we considered buying cloth. Disposables were too expensive and broke out my babies butt.
We just switched to cloth. It was a partly economic decision and since I’ve received gifts, loaners, and second-hand diapers I’ve not needed to buy any cloth-related items. I also made most of my own baby wipes.
Yes, I have been looking into more of making my own covers and natural cleaning products to keep costs (and packaging) down.
Well, I make my own diapers, so the economy hasn’t really affected my stash. I started making my own to save money and use up the fabric in my closet.

No, I just started cloth diapering, and I like to buy the cheap stuff or sew my own best!
Absolutely, We had already purchased the start of or diaper stash and them about a month later my husband lost his second job due to the lack of a state budget. We ordered more to complete our needs, we have a 2 1/2 yr old and an 8 mth old. I am still try some other options but I do love my BG 3.0 but have also just tried the new Flip diapers and I do like that you don’t have to stuff them and have a lot of covers. I find they work better for my older child because the rise in the front is higher.
We used the cloth diapers with our first and now on our third we are so glad that we got away from disposable diapers!! We have saved so much and we use the Bum Genius 3.0 all in one so they can grow with our children. I do reccommend the snaps though over the velcro. We received most of them as gifts so we did not end up spending that much at all.
I just posted the blog on my facebook http://www.facebook.com/home.php?filter=nf#/profile.php?id=744905663&ref=nf
Yep. I just don’t buy anything unless its absolutely necessary. Hubby’s had very little work all summer,so money is tight.
I left a review for bum genius 3.0.
No. cloth is such a good investment, even with one, and certainly if like us you are planning several more. It also is hard to cut back when you have a lovely diaper shop two blocks away.
Most definitely the current economic conditions are affecting my choices in daily living. It is the reason I have chosen to CD DD#2, due in December. DD#1 was in sposies for 2.5 years–I don’t want to think how much I spent on those things, just to throw them away!
I don’t think so. Cloth diapering is a commitment that we have made, for better or worse. :)
I would have to say no because I have shopped around for the best deal since I became a mom.
my current economic situation is affecting my choices when it comes to diaper decisions. had i more expendable income, i would probably have chosen higher end pocket and AIO’s rather than prefolds when making my initial diaper investment. they seem more convenient. that said, i am extremely happy with my budget-friendly choices. as for other baby products, i only buy what i really need but try to still buy natural and organic, even though it’s more expensive.

We have been sticking with prefolds and flats due to the economy; especially flats because they use less electricity to dry. And I sell a lot of the dipes I don’t use much for extra $.
I reviewed the econobum.
The reason we switched to cloth was to save money while my husband was unemployed.
I think I read last weeks question and answered it so here goes again: The current economy has DEFINITELY influenced my choice to use cloth. In fact, saving money was the only reason I was interested in using cloth in the first place. Now, however, I see there are myriads of other benefits to cloth diapering so when the economy goes back up I’m definitely not stopping!
wrote a review on the bum genius 3.0…snaps vs. velcro
Trying to cut back is the reason I have decided to switch from disposable to cloth. I just placed my first order of prefolds and can’t wait to get started with cloth diapers. I have also made my own cloth wipes!
The economy hasn’t really affected our income much (thankfully) but finances are still pretty tight. We started using cloth to save money (I had no interest otherwise) but now actually prefer it. I think if family hadn’t helped us out we would have just used prefolds but with help we were able to buy nice pocket os diapers.
We have always used cloth diapers, but recently started using cloth wipes and homemade solution to help cut costs. They work great and are very economical!

I want to use my cloth diapers even more with the economy the way it is! It’s great to avoid disposable diaper charges each week!
Well, I had no money when I started CDing about 5 months ago and I still have no money, so it really hasn’t changed the way I shop much :)
I am trying to go the more natural route for all products I use on my son, but since I can’t afford to go out and buy all natural products right now, I try homemade ones. For instance he currently has olive oil on his butt for diaper rash ointment :)
I wrote a review for the Bummis Super Whisper Wrap.
I haven’t found work since we moved 2 years ago, partially as consequence of the economy. So even Econobum might be too expsensive for us to add to our stash right now!
No, the economy had no effect on how we purchase baby stuff. I will cut out anything before I cut out all natural stuff for my kids!

I had always planned on cloth diapering and the fact that the economy is bad just gave me another excuse to do it! Not having to spend tons of money every month on disposable diapers is wonderful. The upfront cost of cloth diapering may seem big but in the long run it definitly saves money.
I guess it just makes me glad that I have my cloth diapers and don’t have to go out and buy sposies all of the time!

Yes - the current economic situation has definitely limited how many different diapers we can try. We just continue to use the ones that have worked for us from the beginning and have been unable to expand our stash. But we’re still thankful we’re not having to buy disposables!
Yes - the economy has changed how we shop all around, not just buying diapers. We haven’t gone the cheapest route, but we definitely research purchases beforehand and try to only purchase what we need.
No. I have always been a very frugal shopper for everything, that includes my baby products.
We used to have the financial freedom to try new diapers out. Now, in the current economy, we limit our purchases to diapers that we know will work for us.
No, They made us Switch to Cloth Diapers!!!
The long-term cost was a definite positive for us! We just had our third and final baby and thinking about 2 more years of diapers just about made me cry! It’s an investment up-front but in the long run, you’re saving easily 6 months worth of expensive diapers, and that’s just a CONSERVATIVE estimate!

No,I didn’t want to be creating all the waste.
will always look for deals, no matter the economy….however, i’ve resisted buying more pockets and choosing to use prefolds and covers for a while longer.
No. I started staying home with my children about a year ago. I save money because the more it stretches, the longer I can stay home. So I’m just cheap, regardless of the economy!
Saving money wasn’t the reason I switched to cloth for our second child, but it certainly helped convince my husband! Purchasing 24 new BG 3.0s was half the cost of Pampers!
The fact that economically things are harder is what keeps us using cloth. It is just better for our wallets.
Kind of. I have had a huge stash of Prefolds and Covers since my oldest child was born 4 1/2 years ago. They really need to be upgraded. But we just don’t have the money to buy new, so we look for used diapers and covers (kind of grosses me out) and we enter a lot of giveaways. With two in diapers we need a lot more diapers than one would think. Or I’d be doing laundry every day and we can’t really afford that either. I am always on the look out for a good deal though.
I blogged about the giveaway.
http://tibbsx5.blogspot.com/2009/11/come-on-feed-your-stash.html
Yes, we realized that we would soon be taking on a mortgage, so we took advantage of a great deal on BG3.0s when they were on sale before we’d have to take on a bigger payment. I also enter every blog contest I can about cloth diapering, but I only enter the ones I would really use, so someone else gets a chance. I also do my best to take care of the diapers exactly as the instructions say, and some of the AIOS we had before I got some repair kits for, so they can be held back if we have another baby and re-used. We will no longer even consider using disposables as a back up plan. As long as our dipes hold up until potty training, we will be very, very happy people with a cute tushie in cloth!
Sort of. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for the last 6 years so it’s become habit to pinch pennies where I can. Not having to buy disposables really helps! With things being even tighter due to economical issues I can’t buy everything I would like to have in my stash. I do a lot of window shopping though! :0)

With only one tiny income, we have little to no money anyhow, which is the reason that we are doing cloth diapers. BUT we chose to have one income rather than try to find babysitters, risk infection from other children, and pay out most of a second income in disposable diapers and daycare fees.
With so little money, I DO think that I don’t buy as many small things as I would like, and I know that I haven’t tried as many products as I want to, instead sticking to my tried and true prefolds… We have a gift of 7 Goodmamas from my SIL and I really want to try some other types of fitteds, but we certainly can’t afford them.
The economy somewhat affects my diaper purchasing, but moreover my sense of practicality and conservation does. I am fortunate that I already had a good stash of diapers from my previous children when our newest arrived. Diapers have improved over the past 6 years and I would love to explore the better AIOs but I have limited myself to waiting until there is a true need.
I left a review for the Bummis Super Whisper Wrap Diaper Cover from this page http://www.diaperjunction.com/bummis-super-whisper-wrap-diaper-cover.html
No changes in my life style or buying habits. I find that being more natural is less expensive in many ways so that in the few ways it is more expensive doesn’t matter.
We haven’t really changed much…we fortunately have had our stash for a while and haven’t needed to make a lot of new purchases
The economy hasn’t changed what I would purchase, I simply just do a little extra shopping around to get the product that I need at the best price, using coupons when I can.
It’s hard to tell. I have a pretty complete stash so I don’t need to buy more diapers. But if we had a little more money I think I would anyway.
It was do to this why I went more to natural and homemade only ( or at least as much I can) being the mom of alot of kids I had to find way to save money and keep everything natural,so did it change how I shopped I think greatly so.
yes, we used cloth diapers to save money. I sure would love to try more AIO’s as I only have 3, but have to stay with the prefolds for frugality.
I am just starting to cloth diaper. I know that if things weren’t so tight, I would be able to buy new diapers instead of used ones to try and find what works for us. I know in the end, we will save tons of money whether they were bought new or not.
I have read that cloth diapers are more economical in the long run than disposables. This is definitely a factor for our decision to use cloth.
I have just now started using cloth diapers. I have only 3 and a few prefolds. I will be buying more since they are so wonderful. The economy has not affected us, only the price of disposables. We plan on more children soon and I am no longer working outside the home, so we only have one income.

Just reviewed BG AIO!
Big TIME– I choose my covers based on price and performance, ,not just performance! But I am very grateful that we don’t have to pay for disposable dipes!

Yes! I realized that I can spend a lot of money on cloth diapers as well as disposables, so I’m sticking with what I have and making it work. (And I feel a little justified since I can reuse cloth, so splurging on a SuperDo for nighttime makes perfect sense when buying two eliminates the need for disposables!)
yes, the only diapers that I have bought was the starter pack of prefolds and prowrap covers, all the rest of the diapers I have, I have made, mostly out of recycled fabric or seriously marked down remnants from JoAnn’s. Our stash is a hodge-podge, but it works and it saves money.
Blogged about the giveaway and also left a link to Diaper Junction for the Econobum Diaper Package on sale.

Money being tight and our 6th child on the way, was what prompted me to look into cloth diapering. I loved the pocket diapers, but finances only allowed for prefolds and covers. We have a very small stash but it works for now. Will definitely have to add more for new baby!
posted a review at diaper juction for snappis,
I am reading this blog since I am just now looking into switching to cloth diapers because I need a way to save money!
The economy hasn’t effect us too much thanks to my husbands wonderful job. However, we just had another baby and are down to 1 income so I love that we use cloth and don’t have to buy diapers all the time!
No, the economy has not changed how I shop for cloth diapers. I generally look out for deals and specials, so if anything, I am finding more deals and have been buying more!
i shared on facebook.
I haven’t changed my shopping much due to the economy. I mainly use cloth diapers for environmental reasons, although it’s nice not having to order disposables all the time!
Yes. I am now making my own cloth diapers! and natural baby products are not necessities as much (though I do have a few things that I won’t do without like natural baby lotions and all-natural bug sprays). I make my own cleaning products now, though, so i know those are safe and natural, to, not to mention economical!
we have always tried to do everything as cheap as possible, one reason to cloth diaper
I like how cloth diapers save $ and are so much better for baby. sooo since we already had our diaper, most of them, it was really nice!
FACE BOOK
The recession wasn’t the reason we decided to cloth diaper. Our concerns were definitely more environmental…. That said, what new parents don’t like saving money, especially when economic times are tough?
We determined how much we’d spend each pay check on disposables and bought cloth instead. After a couple of months of phasing out disposables (we always planned to use sposies while our little one was a newborn as we knew she’d need frequent changes and grow so quickly), our stash is almost complete :) Switching was painless because we simply used our disposable budget…

I reviewed the Gro Baby Bio Soakers :) (and I LOVE them!!!)

Yes, definitely. Current economic conditions drove our decision to use cloth diapers. Although after using them, i believe I would use cloth regardless.
Current economic conditions are one of the reasons we started cloth diapering. After we had the baby I ended up being a SAHM part-time so this means we have to watch what we spend even more.
I am thanking my lucky stars that I started to CD my daughter. We are now expecting an oops baby and between breastfeeding and cding this baby will be almost free… excluding hospital costs.
I blogged it! braderin.blogspot.com
We decided to go with cloth diapers to save some money, even though when I buy disposables I use coupons and follow sales. But I’m now finding it can also be pricey to build our cloth diaper stash. A lot of the good cloth diapers cost a lot of money. Thanks for offering these give-a-ways!
No, it hasn’t really changed our CDing. We try to cut costs in food though!
Both are good, for different places. The cloth for home and the disposables for on-the-road.
I have realized through these economic times that I am trying to save money by using cloth diapers, so I don’t need monthly “fluffy mail” no matter how cute or how much on sale. I have a good stash. I need to be content (although if it’s free, I won’t object!)
I buy most of my diapers used on Craigslist to save money.
I do look for store incentives to add new cloth diapers to our stash now. Free shipping or % off specials are worth the wait.
I do tend to look for lower prices on cloth diapers. The goal is to find one that works well and costs the least about of money. Sometime I wish we had more money to try more diper brands though.
yes… I am in need of upsizing due to growth spurt but instead I decided to go the cheaper route and use prefolds and wool covers I made myself… also, I go the gdiaper route and use flat folds in them… much cheaper now for me… but been debating on the Econobums since they seem well made and cheaper… Man I hope I can win this one!!!! :o)
Hasn’t changed things here
Not really because my husband and I are both college students (yes, we are young parents!), so the economy hasn’t affected our financial lives too much. Needless to say, with practically no income we are finding every way possible to save money. And we’re tree-hugging hippies, so the saving money is almost the bonus to preserving the environment. And I love my pre-folds and homemade wool covers. So cheap. I cringe when I look at how much my friends pay for diapers!

Wrote a review for Thirsties duo wraps.

Yes, I have only 12 pocket diapers and and have been looking into used and generally cheaper products like prefolds to fill out my stash.
Not really, we’ve always been on a tight budget. I love to find the best deals that I can!
I just posted a review for Thirsties Diaper covers.
No, I’ve always been up for saving money as well as trying to use as many natural products as possible, so my choice to cloth diaper had nothing to do with the economy.
Posted the link on my blog

Have current economic stressors reduced or changed how you shop for cloth diapers and other natural baby products?
No, I’ve always tried to be careful with money.
Yes, it has. My son leaks out of every diaper I have at night and I can’t just go buy more to “try”. Also My pocket diapers I have been using a wile really need replacing..but we are just getting by and dealing with it!
I’m just starting to buy, I can see how you can go overboard with spending. I always try to stay on budget though.
Decided to try cloth with baby #2, so I’m just getting started! Thanks for all the really helpful info on this site!
when we had our first baby, we talked about the insane cost of diapers, and the nasty gel/footprint impacts of disposables. when we priced it out, we went with one-size options. certainly we have saved hundreds of dollars, and we love the cloth look and feel!
I actually just started shopping for cloth diapers recently. I have been using disposables and really want to cloth diaper my next child. I also want to finish off with cloth for my son if I can. My reasoning is mostly to do with the environmental impact, but money and the economy is having a pretty big influence as well.
Yes! I don’t buy anymore at all. So unless I win them, we are sticking to the stash we have
