Group rubbishes nappy habits.

Group rubbishes nappy habits.I’m a visual learner and so I had to smile when I came across this trashy display of disposable diapers.

Jan Yeo, who runs YoYo Nappy says that one child in disposable diapers, will create about 1.5 tons of waste in a single year – this assumes that their diapers are changed between six to ten times a day.

This display of “rubbish” was created to kick-off Real Nappy Week – a worldwide awareness week to promote cloth diapers as an earth-friendly alternative to disposables. RNW is coordinated by Women’s Environmental Network and funded by WRAP, the Waste and Resources Action Program.

WEN has been campaigning on waste prevention for 15 years and has seen the difference that consumers can make. By creating demand for and promoting goods and services that are less wasteful, WEN believes it’s possible to think beyond recycling to more long-term waste solutions.
