We are excited to introduce Amanda, a new weekly writer to Cloth Diaper Blog. Amanda became part of the Soft Cloth Bunz family in September 2008 and is an integral part of our company. If you have ever stopped by our local brick & mortar store or called our customer service number for our online cloth diaper store, you may already have talked with Amanda about your cloth diapering questions. In addition to picking up the phone line when needed, Amanda heads up the packing, shipping and inventory control.
Now let’s see what Amanda has to say!
Hi there! My name is Amanda and I’m a cloth diapering mama. I have a little girl who is almost two (yikes!) and I’ve been married for five years this October. I became interested in cloth diapers when I was pregnant; like many of you, when I was too uncomfortable to sleep I surfed the web instead.
I was fascinated by the great strides that the world of cloth diapering has made in the last decade or so and, since I am a self proclaimed hippie, I thought it was something I could really do. Of course, my family and friends told me I was a nut job, but then again, they’ve been telling me that for years!
I enjoy sewing, reading, crafting, writing and doing things for other people. However, now that I have a toddler, my hobbies mainly consist of cleaning peanut butter off of screen doors, rescuing the cat from tail pulls, and catching a snuggle when my little girl lets her guard down. I am also a part time college student, minus the frat parties and all nighters. (Well, I still have all nighters, but they are more teething related than party related.) Eventually I’ll finish up school, but I’m in no rush.
I love to explore my community and expose my daughter to all that life has in store for her, and me too. I’m very excited about the possibilities that this blog presents and can’t wait to share my cloth diapering escapades with the readers here.
Thanks for having me! I hope I passed the audition!

what is the best covers you have used
My favorite cover is the Imse Vimse Organic Cotton cover. I really love the elastic at the back and the rounded tabs for the velcro keep my daughters tummy from getting scratched. I find that it even holds up overnight and on long car rides. It’s a great cover and totally worth the money. The Soft Cover works the same way, but I just love how the organic cotton feels. Happy diapering!
