At the end of May, we introduced you to Catie, one of the “behind the scenes” people that keep Diaper Junction going. As a reseller of cloth diapers, cloth diaper covers, and cloth diapering accessories, Diaper Junction depends on a few key people to man the phones, do the inventory, and keep the shipments going out on time!
Diaper Junction’s Shipping And Receiving Manager
Kim came on board at Diaper Junction in March 2010 and works as the Shipping and Receiving Manager. Kim reviews and prints all the orders that come in, and as the main shipping/packing clerk, she posts shipping labels to packages and basically handles the bulk of the shipments going out the door.
“As merchandise comes in, I count it, input it into our systems, and place it on the shelves. While this is my main job, I also do a lot of work with packing and shipping orders, and every now and then I help with customer service.”
Kim sends out shipping notifications and tracking numbers for customer orders and as she said, checks in most all the new product. She does an awesome job of maintaining the endless job of keeping the Diaper Junction warehouse shelves neat and organized.
Working closely with Catie, Kim ensures customers are contacted quickly when there are stock outages or shortages. She also jumps on the Diaper Junction Facebook Page and Twitter from time to time to notify customers of re-stocks or new product arrivals.
On a more personal note…
Kim doesn’t have any children of her own yet, so she hasn’t had the opportunity to use cloth diapers yet, but according to her parents she wore them as a child.
“Even though I started my job as a college student, I have just recently graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College after 3 years with my Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre.” Kim said. “I try to live as ‘Green’ as I can, and I hope that as my life changes I can become even more ‘Green’.
I love working here!
Kim met owner Bryana Guckin when she interviewed her for a class project in a Business course. “I snuck my resume into her hands, and she ended up wanting me to work for her.” Though she continues to look for jobs in her field of study, she loves working at Diaper Junction. “Bryana is a great boss…it has been a blast working with her and Catie.”
