I really thought the book "Diaper Free Before 3" was a great approach. It is parent-led, but not so crazy as some of these "potty parties" I've been hearing about. We've been exposing our our (just turned) 2 year old to the potty since she was about 14 months old. She started going in the potty on rare occasions around 18 months, and now she pees in the potty all the time during the day. Naptimes, night time, and "number 2" are still in the learning stage, but I really like being down to 2 diapers per day!

We practiced the turtle method at our house too. Our daughter finally made the switch the day before her third birthday. She was one of the last of her friends to train, but she also never has accidents, which isn't the case with many of her earlier-training friends.
