What wonderful sites! Thanks so much for posting them.
Here are a few sites for sewing your own diapers and a site for sewing your own baby sling:

I was amazed to read some of the ways to recycle these items. The diaper bag from placemats has really caught my attention. Diaper bags can be quite expensive and the ones from my first child aren’t in good enough shape to continue to the one on the way. I really appreciate your information here!!
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

Please DO NOT advise people to make cloth diapers out of shower curtains….that kind of plastic is not approved for children’s wear which is exactly what cloth diapers are. Not to mention it does NOT hold urine and feces at all and it will melt in the washer and dryer due to the high temp’s needed to clean cloth diapers while washing/drying.
Would you wear plastic shower curtain underwear? I don’t think so!! A better choice is PUL which can be purchased at many online fabric stores.
I have to disagree with the last comment. I use a layer of shower curtain in between the other layers of material for my all in one cloth diapers and it works wonderful. The shower curtain never touches my daughter’s skin because it is in the middle. All of my diapers have held up fine now and my daughter is 6 months old.
I have to say that when people talk about shower curtains, I think of the woven nylon kind, not the plastic kind. The nylon curtains are more like the kind of nylon used in windbreakers and raincoats and it’s pretty breathable! And PUL is laminated with polyurethane, which is still a non-breathable plastic even if it isn’t as potentially toxic as vinyl.
