For those who think an Ecological Footprint is a fungus…

ecological-footprint-is-not-a-fungus

Your Ecological Footprint basically measures your particular "impact" on the Earth. Parents teach their children that every decision has a direct or indirect consequence, whether good or bad. When the same logic is applied to using cloth diapers, or any of the other demands humanity makes on nature, the rationalizations begin. "Consequences? What consequences?" becomes the mantra of those wanting to go about their life blindly, as if all of humanity isn't comprised of one collective, … [Read more...]

You want to do cloth diapers? Are you crazy?

"You want to give birth naturally…yeah right, they all say that. You are going to breastfeed…I give it a month. You want to do cloth diapers…are you crazy!" While I was still pregnant it seemed everywhere I turned people were skeptical. Each time I discussed a desire to have my child naturally, to breastfeed or cloth diaper people continued to doubt my resolve. The fact that I was having my first child also earned me the extremely popular, "you just wait and see" … [Read more...]

Canadian town offers cash incentives to NOT use disposable diapers!

Here in the U.S. we need to follow the lead of Vaudreuil-Dorion, an off-island town offering cash incentives to families willing to buy non-disposable diapers! And if you think people can't be bribed to consider cloth diapers, think again! In March, $10,000 in municipal funds were allocated as part of a trial family to get up to 1,000 families to make the switch. Why not just use disposables and throw the nastiness away? Not have to deal with scraping poo (can I say EWW…) and washing diapers. All you had to do was wrap the nasty poo up inside of the diaper and toss it … [Read more...]

Prepackaged These are the most commonly used and the most expensive. These can be purchased at almost any store and join disposable diapers in the … [Read more...]

Nichole McLeod and Julie Adamson of Happy Nappy Diaper Service serving customers from North Vancouver to Chilliwack, are committed to cloth diapers; they think the government should be as well. These two entrepreneurs are lobbying the federal government to give a tax break for families using cloth diapers. The want this tax credit to include both families who use a cloth diaper service or those that wash them at home.
