THE DIAPER DISH: Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Cover

Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Cover

The Diaper Dish is where you can get all the “dish” on the cloth diapers, diaper covers and cloth diapering accessories we’ve come to love!

This week The Diaper Dish features the Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Cover.

If you’ve ever used or laid your eyes on the completely waterproof, Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Cover, you’ll know the hardest decision you’ll need to make won’t be, “Is this diaper cover what I want?”, but rather, “Do I want Snap or Velcro closures?”!

Designed to fit babies from birth (6 lb.s) to potty training (40 lb.s), the Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Cover is a two-size system that can grow up to three sizes with the adjustable rise snap settings!

Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Cover with Snaps

Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Covers are available with both Snap and Aplix Closures in a variety of colors!

Fold-over laundry tabs protect the rest of your cloth diaper laundry, as well as guard against the hook and loop closures gathering lint. The three rows of snap across the front of the diaper cover give the perfect adjustability each and every time!

Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Covers are now available in four, fun prints with Snap or Velcro closures!

Why Two Sizes?

After extensive testing and research, the designers of the Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Cover concluded a one-size diaper cover could never TRULY fit a 6 lb. baby, as well as a 40 lb. Toddler. Knowing leaks occur when a diaper cover is either too big or too small, Thirsties created the Duo Wrap as a two-size diaper cover system.

Thirsties Duo Wraps grow with your baby!

Tall or short, thin or chunky, the Thirsties Duo Wrap Diaper Cover provides the perfect fit.

Did I Mention Trim?

This two-size system makes for a trimmer diaper cover that wraps perfectly around prefold diapers and fitted diapers. Thirsties Duo Wraps’ leg gussets give extensive coverage for leak-proof protection. And if anything gets past those gussets, the super-soft leg bindings provide the final barrier of protection – keeping baby comfortably secure.

Don’t Take Our Word for It!

Chantell writes, “I loved these covers, especially the elastic in the legs – it’s so helpful, never had a poo leak!”

Janette writes, “These are the best covers, the gussets are superb, we have never had any leaks!”

I am new to Thirsties, would anyone mind writing me a little bit about these as a guest poster for http://www.momcyclopedia.wordpress.com
I am trying to collect a lot of information about various product/parenting info out there. Anything would help!

These are my favorite diaper cover, but they do tend to run small. My son is on the skinny side, and the size 1 barely fits him at 15 pounds. Also, the leg gussets are more susceptible to staining than my other favorite, Bummis Super Brite and also look like they’re wearing out sooner (I only handwash my covers). But otherwise, they have a great trim fit.

  3. Gracie says:

what do you put on the inside? Prefold? Do you use snappies on that then? I am worried because I have a baby that SQUIRMS when changing. She flips over in the blink of an eye and is total meltdown…so I want a diaper change to be FAST. Am I looking at the wrong diaper to get?

  4. Michelle says:

It depends. My son is really squirmy too, so I use a Snappi on the prefold first, then put the cover on after and it works well. I can get it done really fast – it’s just practice (and not much, even. It’s a bit harder when you lay the prefold into the cover and try to diaper like an all-in-one. My son would just kick and wiggle before I could really get the whole thing fastened, but once I started Snappi-ing the diaper first, things have been, ahem, a SNAP…

  5. Valerie says:

I love Thirsties Duo Wraps. The leg gussets are poo stoppers, but they do start to look dingy pretty easily (I do not have a good yard for sunning out the stains). I use the aplix right now since he is in size 1, but plan on snaps when he moves to a 2. I trifold a prefold and lay it inside the cover w/ no pin or snappi.

  6. Johanna says:

I love these covers. The only leaks we have had were at the very beginning when we were getting used to everything and weren’t pulling them tight enough. We have the aplix closure which is fast and easy. We have a few different diapers that we use – prefolds, contours, and fitteds. We snappi the prefolds and contours as a first step, then put on the duo wrap.

  7. Elaine says:

These fit my daughter’s chunky thighs much better than the bummis whisper wrap, but I don’t think the size one is going to take her to 18 pounds. We use a newborn pre fold , folded angel wing style without a snappi or pin. I don’t think a regular pre fold would fit.

  8. Kelli says:

Thirsties Duo Wraps are great but, what is even better are their Duo Hemp Prefolds!

This is a great Prefold for laying in a Thirsties, a Flip or stuffing any pocket!

It is super trim, and oh-so-soft! I just cannot get enough, I will definitely be ordering more in the larger size– I actually like to snappi the size one on my 7 week old– diapering perfection!

I prefer this insert/prefold over all and if it was just a little cheaper I would be able to justify replacing my entire stock with just these
